Britain is hauling out its big guns to wrest back a Eurovision win, come hell or high water.

Britain’s national pride has been so dented by continual Eurovision defeats that Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber has rallied to the cause.
He has confirmed that he will write the UK’s song for next year’s competition and is now on the hunt for a suitable candidate to perform his entry.
It follows his television searches for stars of The Sound of Music and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
“People of Britain, I’m here to speak to you about a subject of considerable gravity – a subject that affects each and every one of us. I refer of course to our great nation’s continued failure in the Eurovision Song Contest,” he announced.
“The BBC have asked me to unite our kingdom in a quest to bring home the Eurovision crown once more. I have been asked to write the song, but where will I be unless one of you volunteer to sing it? So, ask not what your country can do for you, but what you could do for your country by contacting our website.”
The hunt for the best entrant will reportedly form the basis for a new BBC talent competition hosted by Graham Norton.
Poor old Terry Wogan has already jumped ship, no longer on board to commentate the big night either…

Terry is hosting the UK hunt, not the EV commentary as far as I know.
FABULOUS news that Graham Norton will replace Terry … though i loved Terry and it is just not Eurovision without him … we even complained about the Australian version of hosting the show and got him back for recent telecasts …

Also, watch all the eastern Euro countries fall down in a heap because none of them want to host it. It will cost a fortune and the recent financial turmoil has knocked them all about.
Moscow is going to be very interesting in May – yikes, they’ll be holding it in an old missile silo the way the economy is going.
Glad Terry Wogan is gone…whilst i used to love his dry, cynical style, his “sore loser” routine of the last few years was just unbareable, the UK song this year was CRAP and deserved to finish last..Graham Nortons involvement should actually bring some camp fun back to it, which lets face it, is what Eurovision is all about

There are sooo many talented songwriters and performers in th UK who can make brilliant pop songs … don’t leave it to the public to vote, choose the best by jury and by vote ….
Still, I thought they were not going to enter any more because they have no chance of winning due to the political voting from the European countries that make it impossible for the best song to win … alst years winner was just crap!
