Stormworld to light up 2009
Channel Nine will screen a new children's drama, shot in WA, Singapore and Canada next year.

Following on from the success of Lockie Leonard, the Nine Network is producing a new children’s drama in Western Australia, Stormworld.
Partnering with Canada and Singapore the live-action 26×30′ series follows two teenage friends, Jason and Lee, who are transported to a parallel universe.
The synopsis describes “Jason and his best friend Lee are pursued into a swirling vortex and emerge in Stormworld: a parallel universe where the flotsam and jetsam from countless worlds washes up – apparently randomly and without reason. It is a world of three suns, mind-distorting storms and wild coastlines.”
The cast includes George Shevstov, Kazimir Saz, Valentina Barron and international actors Lim Kay Tong from Singapore and Calum Worthy and Andrew Jenkins from Canada.
Filming for the series takes place in Perth, Singapore, Vancouver and the Kimberley coast and it is already pre-sold to Ireland, Romania and Hungary.
Stormworld was created by UK writer John Goldsmith and Aussie producer Paul Barron and directed by BAFTA-winner Mark DeFriest and Edward McQueen-Mason.
Stormworld is the biggest TV drama ever to be mounted in Western Australia.
It airs on Nine next year.

Pre-selling would allow for a bigger budget, better effects, and more actors… It is something you would need if you wanted the best CGI for the mind control storms for instance.
How do you pre-sell a show before it goes into full production? That sounds like a good gig to get in on.
