ABC extends US election coverage
ABC ramps up its live coverage of the US Election to 3 hours and SBS will begin earlier too.

The ABC has joined other broadcasters in providing three hours of live coverage of the US Presidential Election. ABC will include crosses to ABC correspondents in Chicago, Phoenix and Washington.
It begins at midday AEDST and replaces the one hour Midday Report which was initially scheduled.
It elbows out a National Press Club telecast and a repeat of the Damnation of Harvey McHugh.
Earlier times in other states are listed below.
UPDATE: SBS will now air from 2-6:30pm AEDST. Live in all states.

Extended Coverage of the U.S. Presidential Election.
Tomorrow on ABC1, there will be extended live coverage of the U.S Election vote from midday (AEDT) until 3pm.
A three-hour special edition of The Midday Report with Ros Childs will feature live rolling coverage from the U.S, with crosses to ABC correspondents in Chicago, Phoenix and Washington, with the latest news and analysis. The three-hour program will be live in all states.
Starting times:
1000 Western Australia
1030 Northern Territory
1100 Queensland
1130 South Australia
1200 NSW, Victoria, Tasmania and ACT
(This replaces the previously advised one hour edition of The Midday Report from 1200-1300.)

Interestingly for Queensland, ABC HD was showing coverage one hour delayed, but ABC1 (channel 21) was showing it live. I suspect the same was true for central and western states too.
Nine seems to have the best coverage, IMO.
One wonders why the US election gets more coverage than Australian elections in this country.
