Airdate: Camp Rock

Non-Jonas Brother fans lookout. We’re about to be hit with their teeny talents, in the dubiously titled telemovie, Camp Rock.

The Disney film is something of a follow-on from the High School Musical juggernaut, but without the same success.

It’s already screened on Pay TV but the Free To Air premiere is set for 7pm Saturday November 29th on Seven (Melb…. please note times may vary in other states).

Apologies to long forgotten fans of The Hansons….

Press Release:
More than anything, Mitchie Torres wants to spend her summer at a prestigious rock camp, but can only attend if she works in the kitchen as one of the cooks. Upon arriving at camp, Mitchie discovers the competition among the campers is tough both in the classroom, and for the attention of Shane Gray – a teen pop star, and this summer’s celebrity teacher. Shane – who seeks inspiration for his own music – overhears Mitchie singing, but never sees her face. Haunted by her unique sound, he searches for the girl behind the beautiful voice, but first she must confront her fears, step out of the kitchen and into the spotlight. Starring DEMI LOVATO, JOE JONAS, MEAGHAN JETTE MARTIN, MARIA CANALS-BARRERA, ALYSON STONER, JULIE BROWN, DANIEL FATHERS, ANNA MARIA PEREZ DE TAGLE, JASMINE RICHARDS, JORDAN FRANCIS, ROSHON FEGAN, KEVIN JONAS and NICK JONAS.

  1. Camp Rock was Camp Crap. I admit to HSM being a guilty pleasure but as two-dimensional as the storyline was it at least had some okay-ish acting. This felt like amateur night.

And thank you for the apologies as a Hanson fan (then and now – go check out their new stuff it’s ace!)

  2. I too agree that the Jonas Brother are overrated.

I saw them on Ellen once and they performed live. They aren’t all that good if you’re not into the whole squeaky clean “pop rock” image they have (Which I’m not). They do seem to be nice guys though.

Mind you the majority of the “tween” population of Australia will be watching so it’s probably gonna be a hit for Seven.

  3. “the Free To Air premiere is set for 7pm Saturday November 29th on Seven.”

I was watching Saturday Disney today and on of the girls (the blonde one) said it was on at 6.30

  4. Melbourne has a “Xmas in the City” special. Not sure about elsewhere yet. As usual all times on this site are Melbourne based which is about 95% consistent elsewhere, but there is always the odd difference.

  5. Worst Plot Ever

“Shane – who seeks inspiration for his own music – overhears Mitchie singing, but never sees her face. Haunted by her unique sound, he searches for the girl behind the beautiful voice, but first she must confront her fears, step out of the kitchen and into the spotlight.”

Is this what some teenager’s actually enjoy?

And enough of these Jonas Brothers, they need to get some meat on them and stop playing with hair straighteners.

  6. Yeah, Camp Rock wasnt as great as i thought it would be. Disney Channel advertised it for months, building up this hype, but then i was let down when i actually saw it.

HSM is much much better 🙂
