Bumped: The Strip, This is your Life, Amazing Medical Stories

Nine pushes The Strip to 10:30pm Thursdays to be replaced by This is your Life.

Channel Nine has pushed back its local drama The Strip to 10:30pm from this Thursday night.

Last week the show had 834,000 viewers, beaten by Law and Order: CI‘s 1.21m and The Amazing Race on 1.01m.

It will be replaced by This is your Life on Nov 13 and 20. The Mike Munro show had been set for a 6:30pm Sunday return. Instead a 20 to 1 repeat will air this weekend.

Amazing Medical Stories which was airing at 10:30pm Thursdays is currently out of schedule.

  1. I like the chemistry of the leads, and the local scenery is beautiful. I’d forgotten how wonderful it is to be home, LA is such a dreary place. Local CSI shows have turned to garbage, and your show really reminded me of what I’m missing. I’ll look forward to the last 2 episodes, thanks for responding.

  2. I’m a fan living in the US [with friends and family in Australia] and I’ve watched all the epsiodes so far. When you say it’s been moved to 10:30pm., what was the original airtime? In the US that late would be certain death for a series. I’ve heard they taped 13 episodes this year, but I know they pulled a couple earlier in the season to try and improve ratings. Anybody know if they are going to finish out the season? I personally love the show, and after all the dead CSI’s in the US [I don’t think there’s an actor on any of the 3 CSIs here in the US, under the age of 50] I really liked the Aussie version. Plus, that little blonde that does the CSI work can move in with me any time. I’d love some input on the show from someone on the right side of the equator that doesn’t hate it. Please help me, the show reminds me of what I’m missing here in LA.

  3. Despite the silly one liners used at times and premature ending of certain episodes where they seem to just finish without proper explanation.. I think The Strip is an exciting show and personally I am hooked, and would easily call it my favourite of the year.

The chemistry between Cross/Tulley is fantastic, and Cross plays a good role and delivers it well. Please reconsider Channel 9 and good work to the crew on The Strip, especially Aaron Jeffrey and Frankie J. I’ll be very disappointed if it’s canned and whilst the ratings weren’t the best, hopefully they can find a slot as this show seems to have a decent amount of fans.

  4. I really hope the strip gets a second series as I personally belive its one of the best Aussie dramas made in years!

Maybe its just me but I think the actors, vanessa grey and Aaron jeffrey are fantastic on screen together. The stroylines are compelling and the location of the Gold Coast is simply beautiful. Personally I’d rate it as the best new drama of 2008! And its far better than boring Rush, which is simply a carbon copy of Police rescue.

  5. wow, a 20-1 repeat gets slotted in.

    CSI repeats,
    2 and half men repeats
    20-1 repeats.

Next up is Ramsay repeats (oops, we the public decided we had enough of that prat)

What about untried shows Nine or stuff half run on your shelf.
    Repeats means we change channels…

  6. David, Do you know who the second This Is Your Life is On?

I have seen shorts for this weeks episode who is Adam Gilchrist??

So any ideas who the second one is?

  7. i applaud ch9 on persisting with a low rating show for all this time, especially because its aussie, but gawd they pick the wrong ones to be patient with.

why would this rubbish last 9 eps, when mcleods (getting similar figures) with most viewers being 7 year loyal fans be cut after 2 eps

surprised it went all the way to 10:30 surely they could have just pulled RPA an hour earlier. it could become the winner it used to be if it was in one of the least competitive timeslots of the week.

  8. Any idea if Nine will keep This Is Your Life after Mike leaves? They should, as cheesey as it is, it’s a great brand to have on the network.

If they do keep it going – any idea who will host?

    Tracey Grimshaw would be good.

  9. Hey I tend to agree. I do not like to bag Aussie shows as I like to support the Aussie Industry, but, one the cast didn’t grab me, and two there are enough crime shows, this had no appeal or point of difference from the others. Glad Rush has been picked up for a second season. Ch10 have to be happy it is rating higher than the Strip and it is upagainst All Saints and a later timslot.

  10. Going to give up watching TV on Thursday nights. Can never get a routine! Heroes moved, Prison Break off, the Strip moved. This is your life does not interest me.

  11. The Strip is an awful show. Good production values but fatally injured by very poor casting. The leading lady simply cannot act her way out of a paper bag.

This show will need to be heavily re-tooled if it is to come back for a second season. Nine really need those local content points in the absence of a Home and Away/Neighbours style nightly soap, so they will probably have to renew it or come up with something similar.
