Actor Jesse Metcalfe was knocked unconscious after a 40-foot fall down several flights of stairs at a party for the World Music Awards.

Jesse Metcalfe is recuperating in a hospital after surviving a 40-foot fall while partying in Monaco.
The actor, best known as Desperate Housewives‘ sexy gardener, was attending an afterparty for the World Music Awards in Monaco Sunday night when he lost his balance and tumbled from a hotel balcony down several flights of stairs.
The 29-year-old actor was knocked unconscious, and emergency responders immediately transported him to a French hospital.
A precautionary MRI scan came up negative, and Metcalfe was given the all-clear to fly to England, where he remains hospitalised for additional tests and observation.
“He is a very, very lucky man. The accident could have been fatal,” a spokesperson said in London’s Sun newspaper.
“I have just come from the hospital and he is bearing up OK. He has not broken anything but can barely walk as he hasn’t got much movement in his legs.”
His accident follows a severe motorcycle crash for Housewives‘ actor Gale Harold in Los Angeles three weeks ago. He too is expected to make a full recovery.
Metcalfe is expected to be released by tomorrow.

Is it that hard to convert the imperial measurements to metric for an Australian audience? I know we love lifting stuff off others, but alittle care doesn’t require all that much effort. By the way 40 feet is roughly 12m.
