Kate for Carols in the Domain

Kate Ritchie will return to host of Carols in the Domain for Seven with a co-host yet to be announced.

Kate Ritchie will return as host of Carols in the Domain for the Seven Network this year, after co-hosting the event with Grant Denyer in 2007.

A co-host is yet to be announced.

“It’s a real honour to host,” says Kate. “As a kid we’d always watch the Carols on the TV at home. And now to be up there on that stage is amazing.

“I think the Carols make everyone stop and enjoy the Christmas spirit. Everyone gets caught up in Christmas shopping and getting ready for the day, and the Carols give everyone a moment to let the Christmas spirit wash over.”

The Gold Logie winner, who followed her years on Home and Away with radio work, is also in the cast of Nine’s Underbelly prequel.

The annual Sydney event, now in its 26th year, will air on Seven on Saturday December 20th.

So which Seven personality should co-host with Ritchie? Any suggestions?

  1. Like this choice.

Particularly as Kate Ritchie no longer in Seven stable.
Makes change from mass cross promotion

Could almost imagine 7 being silly and putting up O’Keefe and Matt White as hosts or even Fifi Box.

  2. i so hope its not daniel mcpherson!-all the good funny people are on ten (hamish and andy, dave hughes etc…) as long as its not jenn hawkins or dan mcpherson i think i could deal….i like matt white 😉 he is spunky!!! lol

  3. Is Kate Ritchie the only tv personality in Aust that is allowed to be on multiple networks at the same time? normally channel nine would not allow their actors to be on rival networks like when they stopped underbelly actors from attending the premiere of rush. its hard to believe that a h&a actress can have so much respect within the industry.

  4. That might be footage from early weeks….?

I checked with a very reliable source yesterday. While there was no definitive yes or no on Carols, I was reminded he has said he ‘intends’ to be ready in a magazine interview already.

  5. I don’t think Grant Denyer is going to do it by the looks of him on the ad I just saw for next weeks Today Tonight story.

He basically saying it’s the lowest point of his life, is wearing a full back brace and is crying a lot in the promos.

  6. luke jacobz, quite a silent achiever, no big hosting jobs yet. he has a great personality, kind, not the ‘over the top-self absorbed’ type and people obviously like him (winning DWTS popularity contest)

or maybe matt white, although i think he has enough on his plate and wouldn’t seem to match well with kate.

    daniel macpherson?

  7. Oh i hope its Larry. I love him.

I might consider going to the Carols this year. I love to watch Carols in the Domain <3 Ah Christmas, my fav time of the year 🙂
