Life wins full season

NBC has given Life to a further nine episodes of Damien Lewis' drama.

Some good news for Channel TEN at last with word that NBC has given a full season order to Life.

The network has ordered the another nine episodes of the drama starring Damien Lewis.

“This unique crime drama continues to offer consistent and compelling stories each week,” said Teri Weinberg from NBC Entertainment. “We love Life and are thrilled that we get to see more of these characters and amazing new cases.”

The full season order follows it being shuffled around NBC’s schedule. It returned to Mondays this year after the writer’s strike hiatus, before being shifted to Fridays, a viewer dead zone, but is now part of a new Wednesday crime block.

In Australia figures for Wednesday nights have been somewhat modest, but has received good reviews, mostly for Lewis’ charismatic performance as Charlie Crews.

  1. This is great news!! Best show on FTA at the moment I reckon…well, besides Heroes anyway. The character development and the overarching plot are what sets this cop show apart from all the rest. That, and the awesome writing. Damien Lewis is hilarious.

BTW, I wouldn’t worry about it being axed on TEN, its pulling better figures than some of their other shows e.g. Supernatural and they have absolutely nothing to replace it with anyway

  2. Good to see, and even better to see that it’s now in a more visible timeslot in the states. Not so good that NBC have it back-to-back with the floundering Knight Rider (which is about to be drastically re-tooled with three cast members dumped), but it seems to have gotten a good bump in that new slot.

  3. I watch and enjoy Life every week, so this is good news, as long as TEN keeps it on air. Neglecting to air the final 3 episodes of the 1st season was an astonishing decision, and then tacking them on to the beginning of the next season must have left new viewers scratching their heads. Way to build a fanbase. It’s little wonder that the figures are modest. But I will try to have faith in TEN one more time and I’ll commit further to the show. The double dose last week was a bit much though and I look forward to the return of House this week. Yeah, see, some people do watch TEN. It’s Channel Nine I don’t watch – with one exception – Survivor.
