Melissa George has swapped her Aussie citizenship for American.

A story on former Home and Away star Melissa George today notes that she doesn’t spend much time with Aussie ex-pats in Hollywood.
‘”I work so much and think that most Aussies who are doing anything over here are on location or working most of the time, so it’s not how you would think, we don’t get to hang out,” she told news.com.au
But there is no mention of an earlier comment, also with News Limited, that she has relinquished her Aussie citizenship for America.
Earlier this week George said she voted for Barack Obama.
“He’s our Martin Luther King,” George said. “He represents hope and change – the opposite of where (the US) is now.
“I would feel very safe living in America if he were president, he is an amazing man.”
Updated: On-again, off-again… conflicting news over the sexuality of George’s role in Grey’s Anatomy, now indicates she remains bisexual.

Reading various newspapers in States, it seems that George better check out her contract for Grey’s.
Some says her character will be ‘revamped and toned down heaps, others say could be cut.
The US does not allow dual citizenship, at least the last I looked.
Well surely living there for many years, she would no doubt become a citizen.
I don’t think it really matters. It’s her own business.
I’m sure you can still be a dual citizen, right?
Either way, why would she want to abandon the thing that made her famous in the first place?
well, she must be a US citizen if she voted and the US makes you relinquish any other citizenship to become a US citizen..she is really great actress actually, im loving ‘In Treatment’ on Showcase at the moment…
the creator said she is now again bisexual on the show!!!! what the hell with all these changes.
Sounds pretty non-controversial to me.
