Why we love Rosie

Rosie O'Donnell and Barbara Walters are back to swapping "barbs" over her time on The View.

Rosie O’Donnell is preparing a live Thanksgiving special, Rosie Live for November 26th on NBC.

The old-fashioned return to variety is set to include a duet with Liza Minnelli, and appearances by Kathy Griffin, Gloria Estefan, Jane Krakowski, Alanis Morisette and Alec Baldwin.

During interviews for the show, O’Donnell has again been asked about her time on The View, which ended after THAT on air joust with Elisabeth Hasselbeck and a reported refusal by Walters to rein in an on-going feud.

According to Rosie, Barbara Walters “wanted everyone to believe and think and act as if [the show’s on-air personalities] get along and are really good friends and happy and hang out together and . . . that’s just not the reality.

“I’m not saying we loathed each other, but there wasn’t a lot of off-camera camaraderie. . . . What happened on the show was a personal argument with a friend that was publicly displayed. I didn’t want to be paid to fight.”

The comments have now drawn a response from Walters, who has said, without naming names, there are some who were happy to be on the show who now choose to dump on it.

On her own blog, Rosie has in turn, responded.

Love that last look, Rosie…
