Josh Schwartz’s ‘other’ series to be sold by Nine to Foxtel will premiere Wednesday January 21st. Schwartz, who also developed The OC and Gossip Girl, co-wrote Chuck with writer Chris Fedak.
Chuck follows an “average computer-whiz-next-door” who receives an encoded e-mail from an old college friend now working in the CIA. The message embeds the only remaining copy of the world’s greatest spy secrets into Chuck‘s (Zachary Levi) brain.
So far 24 episodes have aired in the US to good reviews.
It premieres Wednesday 21 at 8.30pm on FOX8.

A one hour action-comedy series about Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi) – a computer geek who is catapulted into a new career as the government’s most vital secret agent.
When Chuck opens an e-mail subliminally encoded with government secrets, he unwittingly downloads an entire server of sensitive data into his brain. Now, the fate of the world lies in the unlikely hands of a guy who works at a Buy More Electronics store. Instead of fighting computer viruses, he must now confront assassins and international terrorists.
With the government’s most precious secrets in Chuck’s head, Major John Casey (Adam Baldwin) of the National Security Agency resumes his responsibility of protecting Chuck. Casey’s partner is the CIA’s top agent (and Chuck’s dream girl), Sarah Walker (Yvonne Strahovski). They try to keep him safe by trading in his pocket protector for a bulletproof vest
Also starring are Joshua Gomez as Morgan Grimes, Chuck’s best buddy; Sarah Lancaster as Chuck’s ever-supportive sister Ellie; and Ryan McPartlin as “Captain Awesome,” Ellie’s fiancé. Chuck’s Buy More team consists of Big Mike (Mark Christopher Lawrence) and the Nerd Herd, which includes Lester (Vik Sahay), Jeff (Scott Krinsky) and Anna (Julia Ling).

Yet more proof that FTA has died in the arse

CH 9 messed up badly here. Not only is there an aussie as a main character!
But this show is just so funny. Maybe it will have such a following like gossip girl got that then CH 9 will re-consider and put it on FTA.

This really is one of the best shows on TV at the moment. Yes a quick description of the shows premise sounds pretty stupid, don’t let it put you off it’s a well written, funny show, with great characters.
Definitely one of my favourite tv shows around at the moment.
I’ve seen up to episode 3 of season 2 and this show has definitely become my secret little addiction! 🙂

I’ve seen 18 out of the 24 episodes aired so far and it is a really good show.
Great to see this finally air in Australia, even if only to subscription tv audiences. I am watching season 2 at the moment and am enjoying it more and more. The setup for S2 was well done I thought.
Channel 9 had no idea what it was doing when it sold this gem of a show to Foxtel!

For once, I did the right thing. I waited for Nine to show this.
And the other week, after hearing news of Nine dumping it, I downloaded 7.85 gigabytes of it. Every episode made thus far. “Illegally.” But, I feel, completely morally.
Also loving Pushing Daisies. No thanks, Nine, Merry Xmas.
