Now here’s a treat.
Tonight SBS has an entire episode of NEWStopia dedicated to ‘Inspektor Herring’ (as previously revealed by TV Tonight), Shaun Micallef’s parody of SBS’ own Inspector Rex.
It’s the final episode of NEWStopia‘s third season, described as The Manchurian Candidate meets Herbie Goes Banana.
And is that Andre Rieu????
10pm on SBS tonight!
10:00 pm NEWStopia With Shaun Micallef – It’s The Manchurian Candidate meets Herbie Goes Bananas in a season finale takeover by Inspektor Herring. As Shaun Micallef presents what is still the news – we think – Fyodor the Cop’s long dead partner turns up alive and brainwashed by the KGB; a post-hypnotic order to kill planted deep in his brain. Fyodor is in a race against time to stop his old friend from becoming an assassin. And who is the target? Natasha his nymphomaniac wife, The President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev himself or visiting violinist, André Rieu? (Commissioned by SBS, in English) (Comedy Series) (Final) M CC WS

As much as I will miss the roundup of the weeks news as only Micallef can deliver, this should be entertaining…
Good to see Tony Martin back on screen again.
This just made my day , I am so excited. I am going to sit in front of the TV with SBS on until it comes on starting ….. now!
I cant wait, it will be brilliant. Love the impersonation of Andre Rieu and those dancing pics.
I have a feeling this will be the highlight of the 2008 viewing year. Nicholas Bell, Shaun Micallef and Tony Martin from Bad Eggs together again in a NEWStopia epic. I couldn’t be smiling any bigger 🙂 🙂 🙂
YES! I knew the season finale was going to be an Inspektor Herring special, but I didn’t really care for it until I’d seen the awesome trailer at the end of last week’s episode. can’t wait!! 😀 😀 😀
Spastic TV at its finest! 😀
Looks awesome. Counting down the hours!
I hope Micallef can sustain what is a very, very slight and repetitive joke over a half hour…
This is going to be absolutely fantastic… as Billy Connolly would say.. “F***ing great!”
