Gone: The Ex List, Big Cat Diary

It's almost harder to keep track of summer schedules than ratings season.

  1. The ex list was way better than running re runs of NCIS and LAW & ORDER. It was humourous and easy viewing. With only the 13 episodes it would have filled the Xmas non rating period perfectly.

  2. I was starting to like the Ex-List. I think Channel Ten could’ve atleast given it a chance, since it is non-ratings. I don’t think it should’ve been completely removed from the schedule, maybe just moved to a later timeslot?
Looks like I’ll be tuning into Seven to watch Bones repeats, instead.

  3. Mitch, there is actually no such thing as “non ratings”.

You’ll notice that they’re still making programming decisions based on… yep, overnight ratings.

Summer Experimental Programming Period these days is just when the network publicity departments get to get hammered then go on holiday.

  4. Seriously Ch10.. change your gimmick please to something that suits you..

    like..

‘Seriously.. We don’t know what we’re Doing, Thats why we are the laughing stock of the Free2Air Networks’

  5. Oh please, the fact it’s non-ratings is not an excuse for why networks should air shows which pull in 400k numbers in a 9:30 slot. Use your brains please, they still need to make money during non-ratings.

  6. Looks like re-runs are winning the ratings, just a shame people can’t try something new, probably the same people complaing about the countless re-runs of 2.5 Men and The Simpsons 😛

  7. In fairness to the makers of The Ex List, from what I’ve read, they were given enough notice that the end was nigh that they were apparrently able to wrap the show up properly. Not many short-lived shows get to do that.

  8. Oh for God’s sake TEN,leave them on. I love Big Cat Diary as do a lot of people I know. Hopefully the ABC will bring it back. They at least leave it on for the duration!! The Ex-list was ok, but Gosh it was on for 2 whole weeks plenty of time to gain an audience(insert sarcastic tone)

  9. “…I liked the Ex-List and it only has about 12 episodes they couldn’t just run it out, it’s non-ratings…”
There were 8 finished only 4 aired in the US.

“Honestly, Ten knew the series had been canceled in the States with only a handful of episodes made – why even bother airing them? I’m glad I never wasted my time.”
This is probably what the viewers in the know are thinking, why should I waste my time if I know it’s already over in the US?

  10. I really liked The Ex-List. It’s non-ratings for crying out loud! I hope they return it soon. If not Monday 9:30pm, then a later timeslot or even daytime, just somewhere!

  11. Every summer the commercial stations shaft shows that get slightly worse ratings than last time. Look where it ends up? Lower ratings each summer. As with the Ex list, i saw a one sentence description and knew it was going to be a failure even before it premiered on CBS. Saturday/Sunday arvo would have been better for 10 to put the show on, given that the show was doomed.

  12. I’m not suprised Ten tried out The Ex List – for a while it was being talked up as their great white hope for 2009 – well that fell through.

I’ve been thinking maybe Ten should run NCIS two hours per night every night – that should solve their problems right there!

  13. Seriously Ten why not move NCIS repeats to Mondays for a while and see how they rate. If they rate crap, then channel 10’s Mondays are cursed! Everything they put on Mondays never works.

  14. Honestly, Ten knew the series had been cancelled in the States with only a handful of episodes made – why even bother airing them? I’m glad I never wasted my time.
