High noon in Hi-5?

Have retiring Hi-5 performers Nathan Foley and Kellie Hoggart been replaced for younger, cheaper alternatives?

Many in television know that this time of year is when announcements about shows ending, and contracts not renewed try to slip under the summer radar. Look for more in between Xmas and New Year too.

Now it emerges that Nathan Foley and Kellie Hoggart, both of whom announced their departure from Hi-5, may have been replaced for a cheaper option.

Production company Southern Star is believed to have dropped the two remaining original group members without consultation, according to the Daily Telegraph.

When asked if that was how he had learned he was being ditched, Foley refused to comment. “Look, I don’t really want to talk about it,” he said. “I’ve got a contract until Christmas and I intend to honour it.”

The Hi-5 brand was recenly sold by production company “Kids Like Us”, co-owned by creator Posie Graeme-Evans to Southern Star and Nine.

Both performers will appear at Nine’s Carols By Candlelight.

  1. The new cast (so far) is very talented and really wonderful with the kids. Stevie Nicholson is a great find. Hi-5 will keep entertaining a new generation of kids. Times change.

  2. I read he drove into a petrol station and the attentant said to him ‘My brother is taking over your job’…that was the first he heard about it. Poor guy.
