Nine: ‘inebriated’ Andrew O’Keefe film sold

Nine says Seven paid $25,000 for a video of Andrew O'Keefe allegedly drunk on the streets of Melbourne.

Channel Seven is believed to have paid $25,000 for an amateur video of network star Andrew O’Keefe allegedly drunk on the streets of Melbourne.

According to News Limited, a Melbourne bouncer had been hawking the footage around to the major networks and that when Nine made inquiries yesterday A Current Affair producer Grant Williams was told: “Channel 7 has snapped it up for $25,000.”

“The vision is absolutely clear and irrefutable,” Nine spokesman David Hurley said last night. “O’Keefe’s splayed in the street, profoundly inebriated. He has to be helped to his feet by a blonde woman who disappears down the street. I don’t think you’ll be seeing it any time soon on Today Tonight.”

O’Keefe is said to have been filmed crawling down Chapel St, Prahran, looking disoriented and being helped to his feet by a mystery blonde companion.

The footage, outside Melbourne nightclub Revolver, is believed to be a couple of weeks old.

  1. It wouldn’t make a difference to his career, god Rudd in the middle of an election campaign was accused of a big night out at the Strippers in NYC, and if anything it helped him! Who cares, even if 9 had the footage and run it, its not like A’OK is a Brain Surgeon or a Priest, people would forget about it pretty quick, did Kate Ritchie’s career end cos of ‘that video’ which has been online for numerous years, it would’ve been forgotten about within a week, even if 9 had run it.

  2. Is he as nauseating drunk a he is sober?Any bad press about this nutter is good press. How can two great shows be hosted by the same nob??
    Hahahahahhahahahahahhahhahahahahhhaha….when will he stop?

  3. I hope the video gets out … I can’t stand the sight of him and love to see his so called career go down the toilet so someone “talented” could get the roles instead of him due to his “connections”.

    Jack!

  4. Don;t know what is more appalling – Netwrok bailing out of its “stars” (err disasters) or the bouncer selling footage.
Wonder who the bouncer worked for and whether his employer happy with his actions.

  5. bless, id love to have seen that..ACA would have ran stories on it for a week if they got hold of it…Seven have A-OK over a barrell now, if he ever defects from seven, they will have that on TT the following day!!

  6. Memo to David Hurley from the Australian Television viewers:

    Who cares!!!

Maybe if Nine spent as much time on this issue as it did on its programming maybe you would still be number one.

Talk about total lack of focus or maybe this is the new strategy to win the 5:30 timeslot – dump on the host of the show you are losing to; which you never know might be more successful approach compared to the failed attempts this year.

  7. Was he staring fights in the video? Causing trouble? Harrasing people? Taking Drugs? Relieving himself? Abusing bouncers? Seen driving home?

Does not sound like it from the video Description. Why is Australia and the media becoming a bunch of wowsers. This bouncer should be ashamed of himself

  8. So what? Who hasn’t gone on a bender?

Nine, you’re a disgrace of an excuse for a network, and the lows you sink to are absolutely f***ing disgusting. Feeding trash stories about rival network employees to the Herald Sun? Shame.

    Meanwhile, guess Revolver’s hiring if you’re a bouncer…
