Actor Peter Falk, famous for playing a dishevelled police detective in hit 1970s television show Columbo, is suffering from Alzheimer’s, US media reports.
The 81-year-old actor, who portrayed Columbo in more than 70 television episodes and films during a 35-year period, was revealed to be suffering from Alzheimer’s in court papers filed by his daughter, claiming her father requires “full-time custodial care for his health and safety.”
Falk’s daughter has requested a conservatorship giving her control of her father’s affairs, according to court filings, claiming the actor “can easily be deceived into transferring away property.”
A further hearing has been scheduled for next month.
