I was trying to remember where I’ve seen him having not seen Gremlins or been a fan of HSB. Did a bit of googling and he was in an ep of Frasier so that was likely it.
And to marg yes it was him in Mrs Doubtfire.
A great character actor. He will be missed.
A Legend is gone. RIP Robert Prosky.
He was great in Hill Street Blues!
Very sad – remember him best for Gremlins and Miracle on 34th Street
In HSB, didn’t his character start out with
“Let’s do it to them, before they do it to us…” before
reverting to the original “Let’s be careful
out there”…? 🙂
I liked his performance in HSB, & I was always pleased
to see him crop up in any other opus. I’ll miss him.
Wasn’t he the boss of Robin William’s character in the Mrs Doubtfire scene in the restaurant? That was a great scene……..
I’ll always remember him for his hilarious performance in Gremlins 2 as the weary cable horror movie host/frustrated newsreader. RIP.
I think I remember him best from Gremlin 2 A New Batch, and yeah he was the chauffer/father on Veronica’s Closet – before it started to suck.
He also played Kirstie Alley’s father in Cheers, so twice in two shows!
Remmember His work on Veroncias Closet! R.I.P!
