Another day, another award ceremony on subscription television.

This time it’s the BAFTAs: The British Academy of Film and Television Awards airing in early February.

The BAFTAs traditionally award their Film recipients in February with Television Awards to follow later in the year.

UPDATED: The Biography Channel will exclusively broadcast a presentation of the BAFTA Awards, direct from the Royal Opera House hot off the satellite at 10.00am AEDT on Monday, February 9th. A repeat screening will follow at 8.30pm AEDT.

The host this year is Jonathan Ross, who has previously hosted the BAFTA awards twice before (1999 and 2007) and was embroiled in a broadcast stunt involving phone messages for 78yo actor Andrew Sachs backfired.

Heath Ledger is a hot candidate for the Best Supporting Actor for The Dark Knight.

  1. Remember when all of these used to be on FTA instead of endless repeats of The Simpsons and CSI?

    Guess those days died when FTA did.

    However, what is this doing on a channel called “The Biography Channel”. Bit off topic, isn’t it?
