The Seven Network has released more details of its new series featuring veteran outback adventurer Malcolm Douglas.
As reported here last Friday, the documentary series In the Bush will premiere at 6:30pm February 7th -the same timeslot that was home to the now uncertain Great Outdoors.
Douglas, who has produced natural history docos including Across the Top, North to Niugini and Follow the Sun will explore remote areas of north Australia by boat, and the Kimberley, Arnhem Land and the Great Sandy Desert by road.
“City people are fascinated by bush survival skills,” he says.
“They might never use the information but many of them dream of that great trip around Australia.
NB: Do NOT contact this website for recipe requests.
“With better roads, 4WD vehicles and satellite phones, the real true Aussie bushies are fast disappearing.”
This series is a chance to see the real outback, its animals and Aussie characters before their way of life and environment disappears.
Douglas, now 68, took a short break from TV when he was hit with prostate cancer. Now recovered, these days he is currently enjoying life in Broome WA and running a commercial crocodile farm.
“You can’t keep a man out of the outback for long. I’m fully recovered and every day is a bonus.”

“Best recipes ever” was a quote from one string for Malcolm douglas for camping … Any chance of a fact sheet or website?
