Showtime owned the cream of the TV winners at the Golden Globes. Telemovie Recount will air in February.

The Showtime Channel (which also owns Showcase and Showtime Greats) would have been partying yesterday afternoon as several of its titles swept the Golden Globe television wins: True Blood, John Adams, In Treatment went home happy while the channel is home to other nominees in Dexter, The Tudors, Bernard and Doris and A Raisin in the Sun.
Showtime was swift to send out a glitzy Press Release crowing about its wins -and who can blame them?
Laura Dern also won an acting award for Recount, the telemovie based on the controversial 2000 Presidential Election.
It will screen on Showtime in February.
The time slated for the film is 10:35am February 8th -not exactly a prime slot, particularly given its stellar cast. Maybe it will get amended to a more profile slot after its Globes win.

David, this isnt a premiere, it been on the “showcase” channel since about October last year, but it is fantastic, definately worth watching, particularly timely with President Bush about to leave office.

Recount has already been broadcast by Showtime in 2008. I saw it a few months ago. Dern is excellent, but so is the rest of the cast, particularly Kevin Spacey and Denis Leary. Well worth a watch.
