New episodes are currently screening on Saturdays on SBS.

Hosted by the inimitable Julia Zemiro and her able sideckick Brian Nankervis, it’s not a bad alternative in a sea of repeats.

In coming weeks you can catch Tim Finn and Lilith Lane (February 7) and Vanessa Amorosi & Ashley Nayl (February 15). Of course the best bit will always be the closing duet by the guests.

RocKwiz screens Saturdays at 9:20pm on SBS.

  1. Vanessa Amorosi doesnt even sing those songs anymore. She will prob sing perfect or something emotional i saw her live last year and she was fantastic interested to see what she will perform?? Rockwiz when is this episode airing??
Where is Rockwiz filmed i want to go on the set i think it would be great fun, i love my music.

  2. I think we have had the Vanessa Amorosi overkill performing three of her smash hit singles “Absolutely Everybody” or “Have A Look” or even “Shine” on TV appearences. Oh well if that’s my case i think SBS better cancel her performances and continue on with another guest!!!

  3. i love toni childs. should be a good night. loving vanessa amorosi at the moment too. Perfect is a killer. julia zemiro you are a legend in my books. funny stuff runs out your mouth.

  4. @Johnp

Ow i don’t know maybe her hit single Perfect!!!! Wasn’t it the most played song on radio in 2008?? Did you know she has a new album out (2008) Get your facts right JohnP!

  5. @Derek said: “I love Vanessa Amorosi she is Australia’s best singer by Far!”

Oh dear… If I have to hear “Absolutely Everybody” and it’s insane lyric (is there more than one sentence?) one more time. I can’t believe anyone liked that song – credit to the record company marketing department though. What has she done since that one song? Time she retired from the mainstream and just made songs just for little kids to jump around to at birthday parties me thinks.

  6. @ Sarah909

Jimmy Barnes has been on once, Kete Cebrano twice. Tim Rogers twice (and once performing), Gareth Liddiard twice, Angie Hart twice and so on, do not know what show you have been watching to be honest in recent weeks the performers have been great and varied.

This 48 year oldy enjoys it anyway, each to their own.

  7. Man talk about scared to grow.
The show was good a while back, utterly boring now.
The same hand full of people over and over. How many times Jimmy Barnes?
    Tim Rogers? Kate Cebrano?
How many times are we going to hear the same boring 80s stories about Daryl Brathwaite and Johnny Diesel from Julia? When is a guy dressed in a nappy stop being funny? Could the band be any less flat and lifeless?
great original format, which typically they have run stale, could do with a red dress.
Being at the taping is about as fun as a 6 hour marathon of Karaoke. A lot of yawning, a little of low muttering a lot of “matter of fact’ people.
Obviously for the older demographic, and we know how much they love change.
Its peaked, soon to be gone.

  8. What a hoot last night.

Adam Green bringing back memories of Iggy Pop on Countdown all those years ago, really good to see a TV Show warts and all and not over polished, it is what I miss in live TV, that anything can happen scenario and RockWiz keeps that stuff in fantastic.

Moments to saviour as they are rare these days.

  9. Mac: I thought no one could replace Julia but Dave did a great job – he looked comfortable and natural, and I felt at ease also – Tex – not so much – he tried but looked out of his comfort zone. Some good artists coming up by the looks of it. Well artist’s that I am aware of anyway 🙂

  10. The show’s recorded in Melbourne. The remnants of the once-great INXS live in Sydney.

I doubt Rockwiz would have them, as they usually go for singers for obvious reasons.

  11. I’d actually argue that the best bit(s) are the opening songs by the guest singers forced out of their comfort zone and recreating their songs with a completely different band that they just met that day.

The duets are usually (but not always) pretty forgettable.
