Happy New Year!

2009 promises more digital channels, Freeview, Eddie, Karl and Sonia. And you thought your head hurt already?

Happy 2009 from TV Tonight!

Hope your head doesn’t hurt too much today -unless of course it was really worth it.

Thanks to everyone who participated in helping the site go from strength to strength in 2008, and I look forward to dissecting another year of the best and worst in Australian television with you once more.

As TV Tonight approaches its second birthday next week, it is well and truly on the map in the industry, read by fans, media, on air personalities and network execs alike.

January 1st mark the day our networks can officially launch secondary digital channels. Freeview is also planned for this year and we’re expecting some clarity on the future of ABC and SBS. Today is also your last chance to vote for this site’s annual awards, winner will be announced next week.

This year promises confident second seasons of Underbelly, Packed to the Rafters, So You Think You Can Dance, The Gruen Transfer, The Circuit and Rush. But we’re also due for more Eddie McGuire, Karl Stefanovic, Sonia Kruger and a little less from Kyle. And no doubt more programming nightmares to keep us all on our toes.

With the silly season still lingering, TV Tonight remains in summer mode with moderate updating of news.

Look forward to hearing what grabs your attention on the box as the year rolls on!

David.

  1. I was out so I taped the Channel 7 NYE fireworks – what a letdown. They showed some second rate thing from Victoria when we have the best in the world in Sydney – what a joke! Commercial arrangements like this are the continuing downfall of FTA TV, I think even the presenters on that show knew they were missing out on the main event in Sydney.
