Lois, Clark and more please

Tom Welling is reportedly about to agree to a 9th season of Smallville. You remember that show, right?

Tom Welling is reportedly about to agree to a 9th season of Smallville.

In the US, ratings have gone up this season thanks to the introduction of the villainous Doomsday and (perhaps) the departure of Lana Lang.

Erica Durance and Justin Hartley are expectd to return as Lois Lane and Green Arrow, respectively. But there’s no word on the fate of Chloe and Jimmy Olsen, according to Radar Magazine.

More episodes of the eighth season resume in the US on January 15. Sadly, it’s been some time since Aussie viewers were treated to a new episode.

The show was screening on TEN HD but it will take super-human powers to return those, with the network’s high-definition channel wiping first-run dramas from its current schedule.

  1. It was disgusting how 9 treated the show and then after 10 bought the show, they did the same thing!

For one thing, if Smallville continues into a ninth season then I’ll be very happy. I was hearing everywhere that season eight would most probably be the last one but now hearing this, there is hope again!

I’ve yet to see the episodes without Lex and Lana but I know they’ll be strange. I could do without Lana but Smallville with Lex is really going to be weird. I still want the show to continue but it will be different,

And I’m sure Chloe will return for season nine. I don’t see her going anywhere.

  2. My immediate concern regarding Smallville is waiting for season 6 to come on FOX8 as I don’t have 10HD. Season 9 if there is one is still far away for me to think about.

  3. It will probably get more rating if they had it on a good day and time and if it was on free to air TV because a lot of people don’t have HD yet and can’t afford a new TV or a set top box so please Network ten put Smallville back of Free to air TV

  4. I’ve been sourcing it myself since local networks wont and when they do its edited. So i’m looking forward to the next half of the season and season 9 if it goes ahead.

  5. Smallville would have been a good summer alternative to repeats of The Simpsons and Rules of Engagement. I am up-to-date with the US in my Smallville viewing but I feel sorry for people who stuck with it through all its scheduling changes for six years only to know that it’s still in production but not available to them.

  6. I thought it was a done deal the S8 was the last?

I like the show, but it’s getting harder to watch with the lack of it locally, we don’t get 10HD, not that matters since it’s not on their currently and with ONE coming soon it’s going to be sport 24/7 so no home for shows like this.

Thanks to friends posting me copies I can catch up from time to time.
