‘Ramsays’ back to Ramsay Street

EXCLUSIVE: Neighbours is about to echo its roots as the Ramsay name plans a return to Erinsborough.

EXCLUSIVE: The Ramsay family name is heading back to Neighbours.

In a move that will hark back to the show’s beginnings, producers are introducing a new generation of the Ramsay clan.

The Ramsays and the Robinsons were the defining families of the show that started in 1985.

“At the moment (the writers) are looking at doing a family which is Ramsays,” a spokesperson told TV Tonight. “It’s being plotted at the moment.

“They will be younger, siblings, a new generation of Ramsays.”

But the new characters will not see a whole new family moving into its namesake street.

“It’s not a mum and dad but Ramsay siblings coming into the street.”

Some of the more famous Ramsay characters in Erinsborough have included Henry (Craig McLachlan), Shane (Peter O’Brien), and Madge (Anne Charleston) who married Harold Bishop.

Neighbours screens 6:30pm weeknights on TEN.

  1. Bring back the Scully family and re-cast Joe Scully as he added a bit of humour to the show. Also bring back House Of Trouser especially Stu Parker as their could be a bit of friction between himself and Dan as the hero of Ramsay Street.

  2. I think they have too many characters, they should cut it down to 20 or less. although I am not against these new characters, instead they should write out some of the unrelated characeters because the show should really be about families.

  3. Andrew- Polish actress who played Maria was Dasha Blahova. Alas, she, her husband, Max, and younger son, Danny, didn’t make the cross-over from Seven to Ten. I wish I could remember how their characters’ exits from the street were explained. I always thought it odd that they were such a key part of the Seven version but never made it to Ten.

  4. Although I quit Neighbours since after the parkers arrived. I can’t really see this family staying very long. But they are great actors playing very unlikable and dull characters.

Ando – I agree that general simplicity in plots and characters is the way, but you can tell how desperate the show is for younger viewers. I don’t see what long-terms viewers will get in the 3 Ramsay siblings arriving in Ramsay Street just for namesake. Its obvious the intention is to attract young viewers rather than pulling viewers back to the show.

This would have been very newsworthy had the Producers decided to bring back fan favourite characters
