The New Inventors gets Wood

Following her appearance on their Grand Final last year, Professor Fiona Wood will become a regular feature of the New Inventors judging panel.

fwoodProfessor Fiona Wood AM, the 2005 Australian of the Year, is joining the judging panel of the ABC’s The New Inventors.

Professor Wood will be lending her expertise to medical and therapeutic inventions featured on the program, from March 25th.

Wood was recognised for her research and work assisting burn victims including the use of her invention spray-on skins. Her work in helping Bali bombing victims led to an Order of Australia medal (AM).

Executive Producer Sophia Zachariou said, “We are thrilled that Professor Fiona Wood AM will be joining our talented panel of judges. We received tremendous feedback about her guest appearance on The New Inventors Grand Final last year and we think her outstanding achievements in the medical field will inspire and assist Australian inventors, which is what the program is all about”.

The show hosted by James O’Loghlin returns for a sixth season on ABC1 on Wednesday, February 4th at 8pm.
