Airdate: Rick & Steve. The Happiest Gay Couple in all the World

Rick and Steve decide to have a baby with their lesbian friends, except two of the partners don't particularly like each other.

rickandsteveNext week the Comedy Channel premieres the second series of Rick and Steve: The Happiest Gay Couple in all the World.

The stop-animation series revolves around the citizens of a fictional gay ghetto: Lahunga Beach.

Rick and Steve decide to have a baby with their lesbian friends, except two of the partners don’t particularly like each other. The series, produced for the gay cable network Logo in the US, is a spin off of a 1999 short film by Q. Allan Brocka.

It’s managed to secure a fairly impressive voice cast including Peter Paige (Queer as Folk), Alan Cumming (who appers on Rove this Sunday night), Wilson Cruz, the outrageous Margaret Cho and even Lorna Luft, daughter of Judy Garland.

Guests have included Mark Hamill, RuPaul, Lance Bass, Andy Dick, Jai Rodriguez and George Takei.

Despite the vibrant Playskool colours, the humour is closer to South Park.

The Comedy Channel launches straight into S2 10pm Wednesday February 18.

  1. I tried to watch season 1 when it was on. I made it half way through episode 2 when I decided to delete it off the IQ hard drive. Injecting someone with HIV+ infected blood made me a little sick really.

  2. David, the Comedy Channel has actually been been airing Season 1for the past six weeks, with the final episode on just this week. It’s great to see they will go straight into Season 2, as it such fun!

  3. I already recorded an ep of Rick and Steve this week on Comedy…would that have been S1? (I only saw the ad for it this week never having known of this show before).
