This month marks the debut of the ABC’s newest local drama, The Cut, starring John Wood, Julieanne Newbould, Matt Passmore, Jeremy Lindsay Taylor, Ben Oxenbould, Craig MacLachlan, Simmone Jade Mackinnon and Ian Roberts.
Wood plays rogue sports agent ‘Wild’ Bill Telford (John Wood), who runs Telford Sports Management with his hapless son Andrew (Matt Passmore).
It promises to be a wry look at the world of professional sports management, the players, their agents, the media and the fans.
The six part series is written by John Misto (Heroes’ Mountain, Day of the Roses, The Damnation of Harvey McHugh).
It premieres 9:30pm Monday February 23rd on ABC1 -at least it won’t go up against that other big new local drama!

It looks like a great cast! Nice to see ben oxenbould on the screen again!
Been quietly tracking this production now for nigh on six months and am looking forward to seeing it, of course with John Wood fronting the cast and the wonderful Mandy Smith directing we can be assured it will be Aussie through and through and not an awful American style production, if it is, well……
Julieanne Newbould looks the same as she did in Prisoner
Well great cast looks promising, I remember Juileanne Newbould from 1970s The Restless Years will be nice too see her back on tv again.Lets hope viewers well support a aussie drama.
thanks mr. do-bee. ah yeah now i remember he was in hey dad too… but that was ages ago lol.
There’s a promo for this show on the ABC TV website. It looks really funny. It’s about time they made us laugh again.
Great to see Julieanne Newbould again & she’s still lookin’ good!
Also John Wood seems to be a busy guy these days what with this & Underbelly.
That’s Ben Oxenbould, Jimmy. Strange to see him with so much hair considering the controversy he created when he shaved his head during his days on Hey Dad. The producers were furious with him and made him wear a really bad, obvious wig until his hair grew back.
LOL! ugh can’t remember the name, but the guy from comedy inc seems to be there too (The fourth, sixth and seventh pictures show him).
