The rumour mill suggests two of Grey's residents are about to head out the operating theatre.

So are Katherine Heigl and T.R. Knight set to depart Grey’s Anatomy?
Yes and no.
Reports out of the US have ramped up since James Pickens Jr. (Dr. Richard Webber) told US Weekly that Heigl was leaving.
“Yes, she is.” And he continued, “Wherever Katherine goes, I wish her nothing but the best.”
Her pal in real life and on set, T. R. Knight is also tipped to exit.
“He’s going too,” Pickens told the magazine. “He just wanted to pursue other career paths.
Rumours of the two wanting out have been swirling for months. But Variety notes an insider said none of the show’s talent has been informed of any cast changes. Right now, the only person who knows for sure what’s going on is series creator Shonda Rhimes.
Finally, Michael Ausiello notes, all indications are that it will happen. “The only question now is when.”
There is also talk the door could be left open to allow for character returns later down the track.
Maybe they should just trundle off to Private Practice?

I really don’t know what to say about this. I don’t want them to leave but I don’t know what to believe. I guess we’ll just see what happens.
GA is dead. The cast is boring, the r’ships tired and good riddence to TR and Heigl.
Private Practice is great (after season 1), and Kate Walsh is great as Addison.
I agree with Fraggie – they are my favs. Meredith needs to grow up….
They are my 2 favourite characters. I agree Nik C, the Derek/Meredith storyline has become a snore. They are now my least favourite characters on the show.
That will be a shame I like both actors and their charascters. I must admit the Derek and Meredith storyline is getting a bit tired.

there have been sooo many rumours over the years that Kathrine is leaving over the years and she is still there. i will only believe it when it is 100% confirmed.
the greys cast is getting so huge. very few characters leave and it feels like there are new ones coming in every day. so some cuts should be made. but there are some characters that i really like that i would be sad if they left.
