weeds3A case of better late than never?

Nine has finally gotten around to scheduling Season 3 of Weeds starring the wonderful Mary-Louise Parker. Hurrah!

“Doing the Backstroke” will air at 11:30pm Tuesday February 17th.

The series aired in the US in August 2007, while Season 4 ended there in September of last year.

Nine has been repeating S1 on 9HD on Tuesday nights, but it ends that season tomorrow night.

With no episode airing next week on 9HD that effectively means a leap from S1 to S3.

You’d really hope nobody in programming was actually on the weeds themselves when they decided to repeat S1 instead of S2…

  2. Omg!! I recently watched the first 2 seasons on dvd just to see if it was any good and was hooked. I didn’t download season 3 as I didn’t want to ruin the suspense left from season 2’s shocking ending. So glad the show is back.

  3. I imported the first 3 seasons on blu-ray from the US ages ago… I love this show – one of the funniest around I reckon! Can’t wait til the Season 4 blu-ray comes out in a few months!!

    but i didnt download
    the best thing – now the s3 and 4 dvds are only 2 months away
    im so happy
    i almost downloaded
    now for the other s3’s – big love and skins

  10. I just don’t see why on earth they wouldn’t have aired it in a late night timeslot this time last year! It’s the same thing they’re doing with Survivor. Putting it off only loses them viewers, especially with a show like Weeds which I would presume would have a rather small yet dedicated group of fans. Lucky for Nine I’ll probably end up watching for the sake of it even though I’ve already downloaded the entire season.

  18. if 9HD is going back to simulcast that night what does this then mean for the nine? or is it going to break away for an hour then go back, then away again for ellen etc?

    Is Weeds returning on 9HD or is it airing at 11.30 on the standard Nine Channel!?!?!?! Hope so my PVR isn’t connected up to my HDTV and I won’t be up that late 🙁

  21. The whole series is just fantastic – so good that I had to get my bro to download S3 and S4 for me because I couldn’t wait for Ch 9 to pull their finger out.

    Be warned S3 has like 18 episodes and S4 13 so who knows what you will see before it gets ‘rescheduled’ again.
