Jack Bauer wouldn’t be happy about this.
Seven has decided to push 24 out by another thirty minutes, beginning this Sunday March 8.
24 will now start at 11pm Sundays, following a documentary series Infamous Assassinations. It begins this week with a look at an attempt on the life of Princess Anne in 1974, and follows a week later with one on John Lennon.
It is the third timeslot aired / planned for 24 this season.
On Sunday 24 came third with 362,000 viewers behind a repeat of Underbelly and TEN’s movie Children of Men.
This series of 24 is certainly entertaining enough. It just requires a big commitment to every hour, which at that late on a school night is hard to do.
Looks like it just got harder.

I’ve already seen the first 10 eps of the new season…not only are Seven 6 weeks behind, now its on at an absurd timeslot…why would anyone subject themselves to watching a show taht late? Well, if you’re unemployed and never leave your house its not a problem, but for those of us with work, uni, and lives, its annoying. BTW this season of 24 is really good, the first 4 or 5 eps are a bit dull, but it really gets into gear and picks up in pace around ep 6.
How about this for an idea – Seven should use their second SD channel as a minus 2 hour channel. Imagine this: Sunday 9:00 pm – 24, Monday 8:30 pm – Boston Legal, Tuesday 8:30 pm – Eli Stone, Wednesday 8:30 pm – Lost, Thursday 8:30 pm – Scrubs.
Man that would be sweet.
Why did 24 have to be on Sunday Night? Seriously it was going fine on Wednesdays last year. The time change doesnt worry me as i am a night owl but it means i have to find something to watch for 1/2 hour.
Seven are ridiculous. I’ve been watching it all. And believe me, it just continues to get better and better.
Obviously someone at 7 does not value the saying 24/7 otherwise they will not to do this to Day 7 of 24.
I should qualify my last message, none of the tv programmes I watch come from the Australian commercial networks
Really? Rescheduled? Funny, it’s still on a 830pm Mondays at my house
What a shock 7-freaking suck…
Read this Ch7. Put it on as late as you like (my IQ works 24/7). I am used to my shows not being enjoyed by the baby boomers with the diaries and played at all hours but if you cancel it I wil never invest any time in any of your drama shows and will download. I try not to download (many reasons) but I can – its your choice 7.
I knew this would happen!
F*** ch 7.
I’ve already lost tract late night Sunday you want to rest and veg out not try and keep up with Jack, I’ll just wait for the DVD and watch it in my own time.
Who cares 24 is dull. As long as City Homicide & Bones stay I’m happy.
The real interest for me here and ignored by everyone is this series Infamous Assassinations which sounds rather good. Though I’m not sure if an attempt on someones life qualifies as an assassination.
Is it a new series btw?
It doesn’t indicate Repeat.
to quote jack – “Dammit”
looks like i’m setting the recorder on sunday nights now
thank goodness for IQ – it’s so frustrating having 24 get later and later. I agree Matthew, TV Tonight is the only way I can keep up with programming changes…I’d hate to think of things that I would have missed without it. Thanks David!
Looks like ill be downloadng it, from now on!
and why do you only see the promos for CH7’s shows 15 mins B4 they start…. 24, Lost, Boston Legal and 30 Rock are perfect examples and all are popular in the US.
I don’t believe this! Why this happening to shift timeslot at 11pm and that means I have to record it because it too late to watch it.
No – it just got easier to justify torrenting the current season.
Since I own the past 6 seasons on DVD, and plan to buy this one too – I’m not going to be held hostage by brain-dead network programmers.
24 used to be one of Seven’s staple prime-time shows…but you couldn’t tell that now.
Channel 7 – FTL.
Bummer!! Will the First 48 still follow after 24?
The First 48 is out.
Oh wow you’re kidding right?
well I guess i have to dust off my old VCR again
Lost and 24 would get bigger numbers if Channel 7 promoted them
TVTonight is currently Channel 7’s Promo Department, Unfortunately a lot of people don’t realise 24 is not on, as they don’t know about tvtonight!
I wish Channel 7 Promo would do some work for once.
btw i have friends in London where Lost and 24 is on in primetime and is promoted!
matt
i have my finger on the download-torrent button…..
Thats shocking! Seven have once again ditched this show. Why won’t they put enough effort in giving the show a proper timeslot.
I love 24 and this series is great but next I bet seven will Axe it.
Shame on them!
Bit of a bummer, but I can’t complain too much about the change. It is still on TV, and not being taken off (unlike channel 9 does and 10 at times) so people do still get to see it.
Hopefully it still makes it to 7HD as it did last week.
Ugh, that’s annoying. I’ve become hooked on this season (having never watched 24 before) but I have to get up earlyish for uni on Mondays, so I’d prefer to get to bed before midnight.
That sucks. I have 2 hour discs that i record Bones and then 24 on Sunday Nights. Now what the hell am i meant to do. I usually just record them and go to bed early.
