No Extra Time at SBS

Just three weeks on air is all SBS' new football show enjoyed before it was replaced.

scott-mcintyre-january-2008Just three weeks on air is all SBS’ new football show, Extra Time, enjoyed before it was replaced by repeats of Global Village.

SBS launched its new show on February 11 with World Game reporters Scott McIntyre and Mariana Rudan. The half hour program looked at the latest football news from the A-League, English Premier League and European leagues.

By March 3rd it had been replaced.

An SBS spokesperson told TV Tonight the network will be looking for an alternate time slot or platform to reschedule the football news program.

And you thought commercial telly was tough…

  1. Would be a good review show for ONE HD – at least the presenters for ET knew their stuff unlike some bogan dills on Ten who struggle with the round ball

  2. Last week I switched over to SBS and it was not on. It suprised me because ABC/SBS don’t have a reputation for pulling shows at short notice.

There were rumours that the current management at SBS has not been as enthusiastic about football and spending money on football rights. So initially I was pleased because that they had scheduled a new football show.
