footyclass09Nine’s outspoken AFL panel show Footy Classified returns to air 10:40pm Monday March 23rd.

This means the show is back to Monday nights despite a move last August from Mondays to Sundays. The show had been buffeted by other programming on Nine’s Mondays.

This year former St Kilda coach Grant Thomas joins Garry Lyon, Craig Hutchison and Caroline Wilson.

Compared to The Footy Show, Footy Classified is very much a news-driven sports forum with debate and opinion on AFL, with strong word of mouth.

The Sunday Footy Show (AFL) will return to Nine on Sunday March 29.

  1. Good Call Bad Call………Hutchy wearing a pink shirt and red and pink tie last thursaday on the footy show. Bad Call Hutchy shocking call, just looks so wrong call. embarrasing call. Ha ha … what a wanker……………………

  2. Let’s drop ” tanking ” as it detracts from the integrity of coaches, players and the game overall. Let’s say ” optimise” ie choose the best available option from a range of alternatives because that’s exactly what they are doing…understanably.

  3. I am a Carlton supporter. Do you think Carlton should get rid of Brendan Fevola, he would have to be the biggest down fall of watching a carlton game( live or on tele). His attitude is an utter disgrace, if the players dont kick the ball to him, he drops his head and his lip drags on the ground. My opinion is get rid of him, pick up a young bloke who is willing to have a go. While the CFC are rebuilding.

    I certainly hope that Grant Thomas gets the recognition of the great work he did early on with the saints during his coaching rein.Especially if they snag the grand final as everyone seems to think that they will.

  9. A message for Grant Thomas who needs to think before he speaks, Grant do think Josh Fraser so call dogged it on Friday night vs Ess Pat Ryder not sighted ,does that mean he dogged it ? All players can have a bad or below par game at times Go Pies.

    Did we even watch the same show. Caroline has been banging on for years about James Brayshaw’s Conflict of interest, he has on many occasions said that he can’t do anything about it until the end of this season, he also stated on many occasions that he gets out of commentating on his club at every opportunity, no wonder the man and others showed contempt towards her. As for Gary, she and he have never seen eye to eye, and probably never will, she is more than capable of standing up for herself and giving them a black eye (figurativly speaking of course), they don’t call her the wicked witch of the east for nothing.

  14. Shame on you James Brayshaw you really did show your true colours tonight, what a disgrace! You may not like Caroline Wilsons opinions on you and your club, but you came across as an arogant conceited rude pig. Your club is a nothing club which really draws not alot of interest from the public, your main problem is that Wayne Carey destroyed your club and they have never recovered and you most certainley did your club and yourself no favours with that outburst on tonights show. The disrespect you showed tonight gives the general public a real insight to what you are like! To sit with your back turned and a look of absolute disgust on your face made you seem like a five yr old kid who isn’t getting things his own way. The mens club is what i would call it, Gary Lion wasn’t much better !! As a woman who loves footy, maybe more respect should be shown, as the mother of a young son i dont want him to have anything to do with football if, by being involved in footy results in him having no respect for woman then he will never pull on a football jumper. Maybe it’s time that has been players found other work and let journalists do their job !! It is a conflict of interest for James Brayshaw to be calling North games and he should have not put his hand up for the job untill his contract with triple M finished, i am from the general public and i back Caroline Wilson on that all the way…..Nathan Buckley as a coach what a joke take him Brayshaw lets see who gets the last laugh……

  15. Hutchison is a disgrace. You watch him on the footy show and he is like a little kid looking for praise each time he opens his mouth. His comments about Daniel Kerr on last nights show demonstrate that he is not the “Scoop” of the footy media world. He got it wrong when he said Kerr was leaving and now his comments that Kerr should have left a poor club aren’t worth a knob of goats droppings. Every hear about loyalty Hutchison or are you just so out of touch with reality. Didn’t hear too much from you when Judd left the Eagles – now where was his loyalty????

  16. How did the tribunal determine that Kerr’s hit on Murphy was of higher impact to the one from Thorton. They need to stop showing their bias. If they cant be fair they should get out. Same goes to all commentators, if you cannot give an unbiased account, get out. Sick of listening to Walls and all the ex players of certain clubs giving their one sided opinions. Eg. When their favoured side gets a free it is OK,but when the opposition gets one it soft or lucky. One commentator called Rosa as Embley, gee what are they paid for.

  18. Sham Sham Sham on Craig Hutchison he continues to show disrespect for the footy playing public. It is a a big deal the way the general public get treated by the clubs and the football stadiums the costs for a family make it nearly impossible to go then you get there and you are treat as caro says like cattle Sham Craig bad call.

  19. I only watched the show tonight (for the first time) as I felt there was nothing else on. I was disgusted by the male panelists to the female. She does well to to continue to take it and still make a point without looking like a whiner, unlike the men whom just look like little 3 years olds with their contempt and under hand comments (and from reading other comments I am assuming this is a regular behavious from these so called gentlemen). Grow up boys and respect your fellow commentators let alone a woman who obviously knows the game.

  20. Also I agree with Mark below. Brayshaw shouldn’t commentate Kangaroos matches, Eddie shouldn’t do Collingwood games. And Gary – wait till the cameras are turned off before you throw your microphone down in a little dummy spit. That was televised.

  21. Craig Hutchison is an idiot. When Caro said to him he’d missed the point of her Aka article he said “well it was hard to read”. Don’t comment on it then! He’s like a child.

  22. Gary you obviously dislike Caroline but you are wrong about your dear friend James. He, as President, (just like Eddy) should not commentate on North Melbourne games… it is called “Conflict of interest”. If you could see past your own blatent comtempt of Caroline you may be able to see reason & understand.

  24. I’m watching Footy Classified right now and just have to mention the treatment Caroline Wilson gets from Craig Hutchinson. Its embarrassing to watch, he is just so rude and obviously doesn’t like her. I found it hard to watch !!
    Gary and Grant do a great job !!

  25. Garry Lyons is a good-looking compare with a friendly but commonsense attitude. If only I could understand him. Please, can someone give him some elocution lessons so that he doesn’t mumble??
