footyclass09Nine’s outspoken AFL panel show Footy Classified returns to air 10:40pm Monday March 23rd.

This means the show is back to Monday nights despite a move last August from Mondays to Sundays. The show had been buffeted by other programming on Nine’s Mondays.

This year former St Kilda coach Grant Thomas joins Garry Lyon, Craig Hutchison and Caroline Wilson.

Compared to The Footy Show, Footy Classified is very much a news-driven sports forum with debate and opinion on AFL, with strong word of mouth.

The Sunday Footy Show (AFL) will return to Nine on Sunday March 29.

  1. Just heard Gary having a crack at Hutchy stating he should get some information about how Junior footy works. I sat in on an audience of a junior representative sides first training night in Melbourne where they were introduced to and addressed by new coach Gary who was the repalcement coach taking over from Nathan Buckley. Garry addressed the players and parents travelling from all areas of regional victoria and mentioned at this level both players and parents had to be prepared to make a huge committment at this elite level…and if not prepared to do this then may as well leave …. then he excused himself and said he had to leave for tv commentary committments………..committment ?…….appointed to the wrong job? …….. yes.

At 10.30 on a Monday night i`m tired, but i make an effort and stay up to watch F/C , do you think Garry Lyon and co, that you could make an effort and mention how well the Swans are going ( we are 5th on the ladder at the moment )… Last week we heard how bad the bulldogs played, but not once how great the swans played, and the pressure the put on the dogs, why? Three weeks in a row we have played good footy, Smarten up F/C, or im switching off…..

  5. In regards to the drug testing, the AFL is a professional sport, so why is it the players have 3 chances before action is taken when it comes to drugs? I believe test positive once and your out if you really want to send a no tolerance message to the younger players coming through. Drugs should not be tolerated full stop. If the AFL are going to keep it the way it is there should at least be salary cuts once detected and then heavier salary cuts for the second and out the door with no contract pay out given if or when the 3rd comes around and the players should also be made public, not naming and shaming them is pathetic.
