Ten years for Postcards

Is there a better gig than being a travel presenter? Nine's Victorian lifestyle show racks up ten years tomorrow.

postcardsIs there a better gig in life than being a travel presenter? Just ask Suzie Wilks who as host of Victoria’s edition of Postcards will celebrate the show’s 10th Anniversary on Sunday.

Postcards claims to be the most popular locally produced travel program in Victoria (Coxy may have something to say about that) and has visited over 6000 destinations since 1999. The South Australian version has been running since 1995 and the WA edition since 1999.

The current Victorian team includes Shane Crawford, Blair McDonough, Glen Moriarty, Brodie Harper, Lauren Phillips and Giaan Rooney.

Executive producer Leanne Mercer says the stories are never-ending. “In fact we are still finding new things to see and do,” Mercer said today. “Postcards’ success continues at a difficult economic time when people are looking closer to home to enjoy their leisure time and we take great pride in uncovering our local gems.

This Sunday the team dine in the Presidential Suite at the Park Hyatt, and visit their favourite retreats in Victoria. Suzie goes wine tasting at Red Hill wineries, Foxey’s Hangout and T’Gallant. Glen travels the Great Ocean Road koala spotting and stays at the ultra-modern and luxurious Rotten Point House with views of Johanna Beach. Blair goes rock climbing in The Grampians. Shane kicks off his shoes for barefoot lawn bowls followed by lunch at Riva overlooking Elwood Beach. And Lauren and Brodie enjoy a girls’ day out in South Yarra.

Postcards airs 5:30pm Sunday on GTV9.

  1. Shane Crawford looks really short in that photo. Unlike some, I believe that Suzie is a great host. I miss Changing Rooms. Maybe channel nine should create their own home and garden show (similar to better homes and gardens) with her and Debra Hutton as hosts.

  2. “Suzie Wilks” should be changed as host. On any show she is on she seems to more interested in herself/her looks than the subject matter at hand.
