Top Models, top brawl

Wanna-be models unhappy with badly organised auditions turn on the show's best-ever cat fight.

25parkcentralspanBrawling on model reality shows is usually confined to people who are actually cast on the show, but in the US on the weekend, wanna-be models waiting to audition for CW’s America’s Next Top Model broke out in chaos as fights marred the queues.

Clothes and shoes were left strewn outside the Park Central New York hotel in Manhattan, three people were arrested and six others hurt. By the look of the clip below, it’s amazing there weren;t more casualties.

Police didn’t know what prompted the chaos involving hundreds of people but shut down the audition, saying it wasn’t properly organised.

The NY Times reports many women had waited overnight to audition.

Contestant hopefuls said the lines were poorly coordinated, and no one knew what to do or when they would be seen. With little to eat and no way to use the bathroom without losing a spot in line, tempers flared. By 6 p.m. Saturday, the street was littered with the wreckage of the day: torn sleeping bags where aspiring contestants had spent the night, police barricades, shoes and clothes in the gutter.

When they were told producers had left, fights broke out.

  1. Season 12 has jsut started in the US and it is hilarious. It is worth watching just for Tyra’s behaviour. She is totally nuts but thinks she is fierce. Apart from her, there are some stunning girls in the new season. If only one of them would tell Tyra where to go.

  2. Why would you want to watch this show? Out of all the shows on TV at the moment this has got to be one of the worst. The fact its in its 14th or 15th or whatever season now is just annoying.

  3. this happened as a car parked near the line over-heated and the potential models thought it was a bomb. It wasn’t catfights that caused this, but terrorist hysteria
