Two and a Half Men in mega-deal

two-half-men109After yesterday’s bad news for TEN with Life on Mars, Nine could be about to get some good news.

CBS is reportedly close to giving a major commitment to Two and a Half Men and The Big Bang Theory.

Two and a Half Men could win another three seasons while Bang is nearing a deal for two seasons.

Both shows are produced by Warner Bros. and co-created by Chuck Lorre.

The deal could potentially be a part of a settlement between Warner Bros. TV and CBS following their dispute over Two and a Half Men’s production deficit and license fee.

Warner Bros. filed a $49 million suit against CBS late last year, arguing that the network refused to pay sums it had agreed to hand over to the studio if Two and a Half Men turned into a hit.

While Men has been a runaway hit for Nine, Big Bang was largely summer filler -no longer on screens.

    we will never know how it would go up against seinfeld or cheers.
    but i will say this. its very different to seinfeld. both shows are very different..why… i think cos of the era bot hshow were produced in. no way 2 men would be accept in the 90’s!

    if thats the case then i would of been axed in the US!
    its one of the funniest shows on tv.

  6. Channel Nine should buy both the shows, and then show them back-to-back. Love both the shows. I personally don’t understand why people didn’t like BBT, it was really good!

  7. I will never understand the success of Two and a Half Men. Charlie Sheen phones in his lines every ep. This show wouldn’t get a start in the days of Seinfeld, Cheers and co.

  9. BBT is actually a decent show. While it really doesn’t do as much as it could, and is quite tame, compared to superior geek shows like The IT crowd, it’s pleasant and enjoyable.

    Two and a Half me, is so lame, so simplistic in it’s humor, i really don’t understand how it’s a hit. Well maybe that’s why.

  13. Well can’t say Im too happy about 2.5 Men going on for that long but I am happy about TBBT, but I doubt we will ever get to see those seasons in this country.

  14. I hope this prompts ch9 the bring back BBT and not just for summer.

    FYI with other stuff on last night I totally forgot about new 2.5 Men and I don’t really care LOL
