GO!99 for entertainment?

Is GO!99 the name of Channel Nine's upcoming entertainment channel? Hmmmmmm....

go99Today TV Tonight asks if “GO!99” will be the name of the upcoming entertainment channel  that Nine is planning to launch?

As part of its multichannelling, a new entertainment channel will begin in the second part of the year. Based on this leaked logo, Nine’s font is sleek, contemporary and alters from its traditional “9.”

So far there is no word on what titles may comprise the new-look channel but Nine has previously been reported as seeking to utilise content that has been stored in its library due to a ‘lack of air space’ on its primary channel.

Advertisers on its main channel could be offered free ads on the new channel as part of the initial launch.

Sales Director Peter Wiltshire has previously indicated Nine was aiming for an August start-up.

    1. Chris I had to edit your links here, here and here as I think people forget links are not approved in comments.

They look very old though. I hear GO! is one of several registered, but the Channel 99 addition is very significant. We’ll have to see what the outcome is…

Hey — they’ve been allowed to do that since 2001. It’s the one kind of multichannelling that’s always been fully legal in Australia. But they’ve never done it before, so why start now?

This statement really makes me laugh! if they stopped showing repeat after repeat they would have more air time for the content “stored in their library”.

That said I’m looking forward to more “Australias got no talent” & “Who has the biggest gut” type shows.

TV programming in Oz really sucks…
