Returning: Lipstick Jungle

A surprising addition to Seven programming is the return of Lipstick Jungle early next month.

lip3A surprising addition to Seven programming is the return of Lipstick Jungle early next month.

It’s back at 10:30pm from Tuesday May 5th with the episode “Pandora’s Box,” one of thirteen final episodes of the series starring Brooke Shields, Kim Raver and Lindsay Price.

It is also an episode in which Mary Tyler Moore appears as the mother of Shields.

While it lasted longer than Cashmere Mafia, the show was officially cancelled in March.

  1. @ Craig, Lipstick Jungle won’t rate anywhere, that’s why it has been given 10.30

I’ve never watched the show, nor does it interest me, but when it was in primetime it got similar ratings to Eli Stone’s primetime ratings. If Eli can get 400-500k at 10.30, I don’t see why LJ can’t do the same. 400k is probably a good estimate.

  2. I posted on the possibility the show might come back just yesterday, and so it does!! Boston Legal also only has 4 eps to go, I wonder what will take its slot? Las Vegas, The Unit or possibly My Own Worst Enemy? Seven are also sitting on a new season of The Amazing Race. Something tells me we won’t see Knight Rider until summer. What they’ll most likely do is move 30 Rock forward an hour and chuck in a repeat afterwards

  3. @R – it was a little sarcastic.

Yes it’s a good thing they are finally airing it, but we know it won’t rate at 10:30pm. If I had ADSL I would have already watched it…

  4. well i have never watched this show but tues10:30 is probably a bit better than it deserves. but good on 7 for finishing what they started.

if there was a show i liked i would want it to be on 7 they seem to always play out shows until the end even if the ratings are really bad and its been axed. eg shark, eli stone, dirty sexy money and prisonbreak (i know it wasn’t axed). can’t really complain about the timeslot.

  5. with heroes, DSM, prisonbreak, shark , carpoolers, scrubs, eli stone, boston legal and lipstick jungle all planned to play out, 7’s cupboard is being cleared very nicely, with lots of shows being played out right till the end. now it’s just las vegas, the unit and samantha who to go.

but of course it comes at the cost that they cannot show new shows like reaper, october road, my own worst enemy and knight rider. but i think they are right in prioritising to finish what they start.

  6. Craig, trying to work out if your comment is sarcastic or not?

Seven nearly always have the decency to play out their shows in full, even if they are in a late slot. At least they don’t sit on them like Nine do!
