ABBA the Movie sings again
This week you can catch another airing of that bizarre ABBA movie filmed in Australia.

Following next Saturday’s Eurovision Semi Final #2, SBS will repeat the very kitsch ABBA the Movie.
Filmed mostly in Australia during their 1977 tour, this features the band playing themselves in concerts and backstage while a plot with a journalist trying to land an interview loosely links sequences together.
In that pivotal role is none other than Hey Dad’s Robert Hughes (pictured).
Lookout too for Neighbours’ Tom Oliver as the security for ABBA -one of the more bizarre jobs on his acting CV.
It’s actually a pretty awful movie, but I doubt anyone is watching it for the script….
It airs at 9:30pm Saturday on SBS.

Dude, go along with the music.
But, come to think of it, it is elevator music on steroids.
Sometimes, like, well, things get a little hectic dude.
Instead of a brain wash, think of it kinda like a brain rinse, when you need it.
Thanks for being so cool as to reed this, man.
It’s actually a pretty awful movie?Compared to what?
It is what it is.Considering how it was loosely put together it “actually” stands the test of time i think.Maybe i am biased but it is not that bad.
It was never promoted as a masterpeice or ground breaking but it is very watchable & very enjoyable…maybe except for Tom Oliver (bad actor).
“…during their 1974 tour” – Didn’t they tour Australia in 1977? All this useless Wikipedia trivia is finally coming in handy!
I own this on DVD! So bad it’s great
