gretelJust over 48 hours until Gretel Killeen returns to television screens to host the 51st Logie Awards. After hosting live evictions in front of noisy Dreamworld crowds, facing a show-stopping refugee protest and even having a rubber chicken tossed at her head on air, she’s well prepared for live telly.

Strictly speaking, Sunday’s ceremony isn’t entirely live, but delayed. Still, it should prove a lively affair.

“The thing about the Logies is they’re all there to see each other and have a party. There’s wine and chatting amongst themselves and impressing each other,” she tells PerthNow.

“I completely understand the headspace. Having attended I’m guilty of the same thing. You’d be silly to try to control it. It’s better to expect it, and plough on.

“The main thing is to remember you’re really talking to the audience at home.”

She neatly sidesteps talk of another show with Nine after the Logies, saying this is a one-off.

“You’d be a nut to say “oh, I will never do TV again’. “If an exciting and intriguing thing comes up, of course you want to do it.

“But this is a guest appearance.”

    Besides, she wont get any intruders from KillTV this year, as the band member who lept on stage, beat Pauline Hanson in Beaudesert, and is in Queensland’s parliament as a MP.

  2. I enjoyed her appearance on Rove, despite the annoying technical difficulties. Can’t wait for The Logies, almost only due to her hosting!

    I liked her “opposite of a bromance” comment on rove last week.

  7. Love Gretel – thats why Im interested in this years Logies – shes so good at her profession and amazes me while under the scrutiny.

    gretel is hot, an amazing host and i cant wait to see her on the logies. i watched her on rove and wasnt impressed about the wig. who keeps their hair a secret… very very sad.
