Eurovision winner announced from space?

Eurovision will cross to the international space station, fuelling speculation the winner could be announced from outer space.

issBy this morning, Moscow will have conducted its second Semi Final for Eurovision, rounding off the remaining ten countries that will compete in the 2009 Final.

The first Semi Final was held on Tuesday night in Moscow. Those proceeding from each will meet the United Kingdom, Spain, France and Germany in the Final -the four countries who finance the event via the European Broadcasting Union. Last year’s winner, Russia, is also a guaranteed Finalist.

Meanwhile there are stories suggesting the winner of Eurovision could be announced from outer space.

“We will not disclose all secrets. But TV viewers in Europe will see a magnificent show. I can only say that we will speak to the space station,” said Contest musical producer Yuri Aksyuta.

What does seem clear is that the international space station crew will at least start the beginning of the voting.

  1. yehh its annoying when you hear from other sources who won. I so desperately tried to avoud any form of media on the sunday before sbs show the final at night but it never happens, soo lucky for me i get to wake up at 5am sun morning and watch it live on greek channel ERT, or u can just watch it live. good luck and goooooooo greece!! fly to the top!!!

Every time I flicked over to TODAY this morning, they were either talking about or had Eurovision clips,so, I quickly switched off, I even had to avert my eyes when I was running on the treadmill at the gym as they had a clip of one of the songs, please tell me it was just a few highlights and that Nine havent become desperate enought to start spoling shows on SBS for viewers?? Will be a new low for Nine if they have..
