FOX crosses Earl off their list

After being dropped by NBC now it looks like Earl's last chance is over.

tmpphph2ouywThe FOX Network has officially passed on picking up My Name is Earl, according to the Twitter account of Ethan Suplee (Randy).

That means it’s now dead in the water. There was talk FOX would pick it up after its NBC cancellation, but now no more….

“Thanks for the effort guys, we appreciate it. It seems that Earl is actually dead. Fox has passed. The mustache will live on in our hearts,” he said.

  1. Can’t say I’m too bothered by this. The show started off brilliantly. Season 2 was pretty decent. Season 3, as RichoTB said, was horrible due to the prison and coma plotlines. It was just ridiculous and the show went downhill.

Season 4’s alright but still not that funny (so far anyway, Seven’s a fair bit behind so I don’t know how well the rest of the season is), in my opinion.

  2. Okay just watched the final and Snap! why leave it there, damn they just need one more ep to answer the cliff hanger, I guess they were banking on another season, I hate that!

  3. Agreed with most of the comments on here. When it started Earl was refreshingly funny. Hasnt really come up with any new ideas so every episode seems the same. Havent laughed during this show for a while now.

  4. Why do people bag a show they don’t like or watch, there is plenty of other stuff to watch, Earl is a great show, now time to watch the last 3 and see how it ends…

  5. The MNIE show wasn’t cheap to make as a comedy show (since it always had exteriors, instead of being all done cheaply in a studio like say the Two and a Half Men show is) and its US ratings were down, so that’s why Fox opted not to take it on their own network.

  6. It was rating really badly in the US but always seemed to be fairly consistent here, usually winning its timeslot in the important demos since its premiere. After the awful 3rd season with the coma and prison plots it seemed the show had run its course. Now, if Ten relaunched The Office instead of airing the axed Worst Week, that would be a smart move.

  7. it used to be one of my favourites i was crazy about it but these last few episodes have been terrible, no funny bits and the humour is so low quality.

  8. NBC may have aired it, but the show is owned by Fox (who could take it on their own network if they really wanted to, but they’ve apparently passed on doing that).
