Gone: You Saved My Life

Nine's new factual series disappears from schedule to be replaced by more Charlie Sheen.

taraNine has pulled one of its two new factual series You Saved My Life, which reunited survivors with rescuers, from Monday nights.

The show presented by Tara Brown and Andrew Rochford has had three episodes air. On Monday it had an audience of 931,000, fourth in its slot.

It will be replaced by a new episode of Two and a Half Men from next Monday, May 11. Also of note, on Tuesday May 19 the usually new episode of Men at 8:30pm will now be a repeat. Nine could be shifting the new eps from Tuesdays to Mondays…

Missing Pieces hosted by Peter Overton, which took 1.04m this week remains in place at 8pm.

  1. Maybe nine should rename itself, the ramsay/underbelly/2 1/2 channel, cause that is all it screens……. I wonder who does the programming at nine? a bunch of monkeys??? 😉

  2. All the new Tuesday episodes have been rated ‘M’. Will Nine now have to edit to get the down to ‘PG’ or not bother and just show them as they are and hope noone notices that they are showing what should be an ‘M’ program as ‘PG’.

  3. @Jed, makes you wonder who the programmer is at Nine and more importantly who is feeding him the crap advice that the solution to everything is 20-1 and 2 1/2 men.
Seems no one at Nine can read a forum or talk to a member of the general public who is not kissing their arse.
How many times do we have to say Survivor, weeds, fringe, show episodes in order, stop starting shows at 8.39 and the list goes on.
Memo to Channel 9 – commonsense can be found anywhere bar the building where you are.

  4. @Jed heheh yeh I was gonna say that too but CBF wasting my time! It seems channel 9 have a business plan to ruin everything and show as much garbage as they can in prime time…

Poor old Packer would be doing 2 1/2 spins in his grave…

  5. That’s their answer to everything??? Replace shows with more 2.5 Men. They are really stupider than i thought. I really want to laugh, but now it’s like watching a chook runnign aroudn with its head cut off. Someone put them out of their misery. They should chane the name from Channel Nine to Channel 2.5. Yes thank you very much, i thought of that joke myself.

  6. No wonder Nine is going to the crapper while Seven just powers on and Ten is doing very well this year. When will Nine stop chopping and changing their schedule and filling gaps with the same old crap? I’m glad that nothing on Nine particularly appeals to me – if i did start watching something they’d probably pull it and replace it with 20 to bloody 1

  7. i think you miss understood my comment david, i didn’t think that tuesday’s ep was a repeat of mondays, i was just saying what’s the point of showing a repeat on monday as they have one on at 7pm, i can see why you would think that though due to the way i worded it lol

  8. Another example of Nine running out of ideas when it comes to programming. Although, will this mean the end of showing Two and a Half Men on 8.30pm Tuesdays?

  9. Who would know if Two and a Half Men was a repeat or a new episode… they are all the same yank crap anyhow (sorry if thats your thing, but just don’t think its funny).

Perhaps 9 should be changed to “Channel 2 1/2” ??

  10. stupid move. Its doing finee, why do they worry about this when they’ll have Sea Patrol doing well at 8.30? seven left How I met your mother at 7.30 since the start of the year, and it has grown brilliantly, on set to win next weeks timeslot. See what happens when u rip off a successful format, bites u in the ass.
Its obvious they wont win the year, so why bother? Let the shows run like ten does and chill.
next will be missing pieces, eleventh hour, then homemade probably.

  11. Mac the Tue repeat on May 19 is a different ep. Point being the new eps which have been running Tuesdays look like shifting to Mondays as a new slot. We’ll have to see how this pans out…

  12. Well at least it’s a New ep. And in the race for most repeated show on free-to-air, it’s 8 a piece for 2.5 Men and The Simpsons. Who will make the next move? 😉

  13. 904 thousand i would have thought is quite a lot, and is not much less than the 1.04 mil figure that missing pieces has.
Plus, it was the only show I watched on channel 9 (appart from the occasional movie), so I guess they’ve completely lost my viewership.

  14. I guess they should have given it a go – to build an audience. The show may have picked up after a month a so.

But I guess they weren’t joking when they said “dog” shows would be pulled off air immediately.

  15. i wonder what people have against factuals on 9. has 9 had any successful factuals in the last few years? 7 and 10 seem to be laughing all the way to the bank with heaps of them. these ones had a decent promotion, no older demographic competition, and had themes that seem to rate well over on 7.

this one i thought was well made but was too similar to triple zero heroes.

i wouldn’t put too many weeks on missing pieces either. customs was getting 1.4 in that slot which was not a stand alone hit without underbelly. so now that underbelly is gone and has an inappropriate lead in, missing pieces should fall from a lower platform.

  16. Another round of musical chairs for it’s shows, good going Nine at this rate we’ll be back to 10 eps of 2.5 Men each week again!

Problem I have if keeping track of when the new eps are on, so it’s Monday now.

OT – is anyone else annoyed when ch9 shows 2 eps back to back there is no ads or anything between the new and old eps, last night the new one ended and they went strait to the re-run like it was the next scene. Stupid Nine, stupid!
