Libby to Nine’s Rescue

Libby Tanner joins Nine's new action drama, Rescue Special Ops, which has Underbelly directors on board.

_dsc0188Last week Nine confirmed its casting for its newest drama, RESCUE Special Ops (yep more titles with CAPS!).

To be produced by Julie McGauran (Out Of The Blue, Home and Away) and Sarah Smith (The Alice) the 13 part series will feature Les Hill (Underbelly), Libby Tanner (Scorched), Peter Phelps (Underbelly: A Tale Of Two Cities), Daniel Amalm (Two Fists, One Heart), Gigi Edgley( The Starter Wife), Katherine Hicks (Out Of The Blue) and newcomer Andrew Lees.

Playing brothers Dean Gallagher and Chase are Les Hill and Andrew Lees: competitive alpha males, who argue over everything, agree on nothing, but defend each other from outsiders no matter what.

They’re also experienced paramedics in peak physical condition, they’re called in for complex search and rescue operations.

Rescue, as it appears to be known in short hand, has a strong directing team including Peter Andrikidis (East West 101, Underbelly), Geoff Bennett (Underbelly, Rush), Ian Barry (Sea Patrol) and Garth Maxwell (The Strip).

The writing team includes Sarah Smith (McLeod’s Daughters), Dave Warner (Packed to the Rafters), Michaeley O’Brien (City Homicide), Chris Hawkshaw (McLeod’s Daughters), John Ridley (Sea Patrol) and Liz Doran (Carla Cametti PD).

Production is currently underway in Sydney.

  1. Sounds good, I just wanna see Gigi and Libby, I’m a big fan of All Saints but I have a feeling that this series is gonna get more ratings. Plus they’ve got a brilliant group of people who are directing and producing and writing.
