Returning: Prison Break

Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell finally return for the last chapter of their action drama.

wentworth_miller_prison_breakAs previously tipped here, Prison Break returns to Seven now that Lost is concluding.

The final episodes of the series are back from 11pm Wednesday June 10th on Seven.

“The Mother Lode” is the first of six episodes which have already aired in the US.

Sky1 in the UK will air the exclusive world premiere of another two-hour special, Prison Break: The Final Break later this month.

Beware of internet spoilers….

  1. As if banishing Prison Break to the graveyard 11.00 PM slot was not bad enough, Seven has added insult to injury with the very first episode of the final season being shunted back to 11.30 on short notice (to defeat time shifters?) Shades of Channel 9 with The Sopranos. No wonder file sharing networks are booming!

  2. Season Three only ended up being half a season anyway, given the Writers’ Strike. The end of Season Three was originally written as the mid-season cliffhanger and the rest of the season was going to follow Michael’s search for Gretchen, but then the strike hit and they had to end the season early. Ultimately, though, it worked out for the best, because they were able to bring back Sarah and take the show in a much more satisfying direction.

Season Three allowed the writers to introduce characters and explore relationships that were important to the Season Four plot. While it may have been the least interesting of the series’ four seasons, it was still an essential part of the story arc.

  3. PB should have been wound up in 3 seasons. why they had them locked up at that sona prison for so long was a joke. Sure they met plot characters, but they knew about scylla and the company well before that, and should have just gone after it in season 3. Then again they did meat a guy who had the map to scylla.

  4. Steve, the DVD is released in Australia on July 8th and features all 24 episodes made for this season, including the two unaired episodes (according to the episode listing). It’s already available for pre-order online. I don’t think we’re allowed to include links in our posts – otherwise I’d post a direct link to the website.

  5. The Final Break was really good, tied up all the loose ends of the series. It was great to see Michael and the gang back in action for one last time. I’d say the Final Break was better than the entirety of seasons 3 and 4.

  6. so if this is going to kepp going in the 11pm slot once lost finishes, whats going to be on at 10.30 once ponderland finishes? couldnt they bring these shows forward to 10.30, rather then filling in the 30min slot with something stupid?

  7. Most viewer downloaders who are into this show, have already seen the last episodes, myself included. The final season didn’t need 22 episodes and could’ve been done in 15 or 16.

Does anyone know if Seven will buy and actually air The Final Break TV movie. Thanks to it getting a UK TV airing, it’ll be up on torrents fairly quickly, if Seven opt not to.

The Aus DVD of PB Season 4 (when it comes out), won’t include The Final Break. It’ll be a separate DVD release to milk fans of the show, like the 24 Redemption TV movie was.

  8. The Australian DVD release will include the two additional episodes. I can’t wait! I’m already missing the show and it’s barely been a week since I watched the last two episodes!

  9. Look forward to it. Thankfully no spoilers in this post like the previous Prison Break story which my wife had to tell me not to read for that reason. Thanks for the heads up from all you downloaders about the episodes. At least can see in HD as 7HD breakaways still after midnight.

  10. I have been planning on buying the complete series box set for a while now, pending the show to wrap up. I’ll buy it at a later date though, which might be a while away anyway from being released, and a break from the ‘break’ is always good 🙂

  11. Yeah it was a slow start but it ended well…
& i for one wont be buying the final Dvd hopfully channel-7 well air it if not there always DL from the UK 😉

  12. I agree with Benno, the first 2 eps were pretty bland, but from there the pace really picked up and the plot finally came to a solid conclusion. Not everyone will like the finale, but I’d say if anyone enjoyed this series before the awful 3rd season then its worthwhile tuning in for the final few episodes. For the record, I thought the finale was great, and I’ll tune in for the final stand-alone movie on May 26.

  13. I loved the final and can’t wait for the 2 hour special, can’t say much here as it will spoil the final few minutes of the final, BTW it airs next Tuesday in the UK.

Why they are not airing it in the US is anyones guess, but I won’t be waiting for the DVD at the end of July. Don’t they think fans will DL it? Wonder if ch7 will air it around Aug 21st?

  14. The first 2 episodes were a bit slow, but the remaining 4 episodes were really good, and the final episode did wrap the series up nicely. Although i can’t say no to more episodes, so when the additional two new episodes air…
