Airdate: 63rd Tony Awards

Neil Patrick Harris hosts next week's Tony Awards airing live on the Bio Channel with a cavalcade of stars and performances.

neil_patrick_harris2Just a reminder that the 63rd Tony Awards, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, screen live next Monday morning at 10am on the Biography Channel.

The Tonys are regularly screened live to air in Oz, as are most of the big US awards shows by Foxtel.

Broadways top awards will be beamed in live from New York‟s Radio City Music Hall with Australia’s Geoffrey Rush is up for Best Actor for his performance in Exit The King.

Other nominees in this category include James Gandolfini and Jeff Daniels.

A long overdue Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre will be presented to composer and lyricist Jerry Herman (Hello Dolly, Mame, La Cage Aux Folles), presented we hope by Angela Lansbury?

The announced presenters: Lucie Arnaz, Kate Burton, Kristin Chenoweth, Jeff Daniels, Hope Davis, Edie Falco, Will Ferrell, Carrie Fisher, Jane Fonda, Hallie Foote, James Gandolfini, Lauren Graham, Colin Hanks, Marcia Gay Harden, Nicole Kidman, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Lange, Frank Langella, Angela Lansbury, Audra McDonald, David Hyde Pierce, Piper Perabo, Oliver Platt, Susan Sarandon, Kevin Spacey, John Stamos and Chandra Wilson.

Performances will include Billy Elliot the Musical, Guys and Dolls, Hair, Next to Normal, Pal Joey, Rock of Ages, Shrek the Musical and West Side Story.

Jersey Boys, Legally Blonde The Musical and Mamma Mia! will also feature and there will be special appearances by Elton John and Dolly Parton.

It will be repeated at 8:30pm.
