Alas, My Name is no longer Earl

So much for good karma.... My Name is Earl will not be put back on anyone's production list.

earlTake those hopes and dash them on the rocks. My Name is Earl is officially dead in the water.

Negotiations between Twentieth Century TV and TBS have not found agreement. Earl is off to the big trailer park in rerun heaven.

“While we had hoped to find a way to produce additional episodes for TBS, in the final analysis we simply could not make the economics work without seriously undermining the artistic integrity of the series,” said a studio statement.

“As none of us, Greg (Garcia, creator) included, want the show to go out on anything but a high note, we regret that we must put to rest any speculation that Earl will continue. We are grateful to everyone at TBS for their enthusiasm for the series and wish to offer our heartfelt thanks to the cast and crew of My Name is Earl for their incredible work.”

So much for good karma…

  1. It wasn’t a major cliffhanger (quite silly actually), but it would be nice to have a bit of closure. I’m not overly fussed either way, but it would be nice.

  2. Considering i have seen the final episode it leaves us hanging a bit. It would have been nice for 20th Century Fox to say yes for a wrap up on the show instead of leaving us in limbo even if it was 3 or 4 episodes.

  3. Very disappointing its ending. Its been a real charming show for me and certainly I think it deserved better. Wished it could have had another season or so to wrap things up. Why couldn’t they at least do a prison break, a few more episodes to wrap the season up.

If not then goodbye moustache one. Karma looked upon you in the series, and hopefully it will stay with you for years to come!
