Home and Away stars in news controversies

Summer Bay strife. Two unfortunate stories emerge today for both Lincoln Lewis and Jodi Gordon.

jgTwo separate stories have emerged today involving Home and Away actors, that the network could probably do without.

One involves actor Lincoln Lewis admitting to filming a private sex act last year, reportedly on his mobile phone.

“You do stupid things when you are young,” he said last night.

“But your learn from your mistakes, that’s part of growing up. This mistake, and what I have learnt, will contribute a lot to making me a better person in the future.”

Seven is believed to be taking the matter seriously and recommending counselling. While the matter is obviously a private one, the problem for Seven is that Home and Away is a family show. There must have been a significant reason why this was not dealt with internally.

Lewis, 21, has just been announced as part of the line-up for Dancing with the Stars.

The more serious, second story involves actress Jodi Gordon, who was caught up in an incident in which police responded to a call claiming armed gunmen were trying to break into an apartment. Police found Gordon and a 29 year old man cowering in a bedroom.

But police found no evidence on CCTV footage to support the claim, and during questioning, Gordon allegedly disclosed that cocaine had been consumed that day, according to the Daily Telegraph.

“Police responded to reports of an incident. Subsequent enquiries revealed no such incident took place,” Detective Inspector John Maricic said.

Gordon is dating Ryan Stokes, son of Seven Chairman Kerry Stokes. He reported her missing from Kings Cross on Wednesday.

Seven programming director Tim Worner said, “Our main concern is for her safety and health. We will make sure that Jodi gets whatever support and understanding she needs at this time.”

  1. What the big deal about Lincoln Lewis? He wasn’t doing anything illegal and they both are over the legal agent of consent – this is just middle class moralism over nothing!

I note that ninemsn has it as one of it’s leading stories while Yahoo 7 doesn’t even mention it…

  2. Well Jodi’s incident doesn’t bode too well. But as for Lincolns, it didn’t hurt anyone in public; he is a young guy, young guys have sex; this video wasn’t leaked was it? If not why and how did this even come up, its something from his personal life that happened and should’ve stayed that way, but I just don’t particuarly care if he recorded himself having sex, normal people do it all the time.

  3. So was Lincoln Lewis ordered to counselling before or after the story was made public??

Seems odd since his little ‘incident’ happened last year and yet it’s only now the story is seeing the light of day – at the same time Jodi Gordon finds herself in trouble.

Not that I’m saying there’s a conspiracy afoot in the news departments of course……

  4. Craig H, you were right!. ACA is doing a story of the damaging controveries regarding Jodie & Lincoln tonight. Their promo is making that “H&A” will be now refered as “Adults Only” rated viewing!. Ch 9 saw this as the perfect opportunity to once again attack Ch 7!. Beside Ch 7 has far more aussie made dramas to what Ch 9 has!!.

Also according to news.com,au, Mrs. Lewis is verty glad that her son Lincoln, is no longer dating the girl who’d agreed to take part in the sex tape.

  5. As with many famous people, these individuals behave differently away from the spotlight. There are plenty of people who appear friendly and nice on camera or in interviews, but are in reality complete idiots.

  6. Before we all attack ACA, let’s not forget a star that the Star that some children look up to is ruining her life with cocaine, so much so she is allegedly hallucinating and wasting police time with phantom attackers.

Why is that acceptable but reporting on that isn’t?

  7. Lucky she isn’t a footballer. Seven would be moralising like there was no tomorrow about role models and suspensions and continually dragging her name up for cheap ratings. I don’t think this is her first offense either.

Pretty bad indictment on Stokes himself.

  8. something tells me A Current Affair will be all over this like herpes on a hooker, along the lines of “troubled TV soap, ratings are down, cast playing up” blah..blah..blah…
