Jamie Oliver weighs into Ramsay debacle

The Naked Chef reckons, “Aussies aren’t forgiving. Once you’re gone, you’re gone."

jamie-oliverNaked Chef Jamie Oliver has weighed into the Gordon Ramsay debacle, saying: “Aussies aren’t forgiving. Once you’re gone, you’re gone.

“It’s never good to criticise a woman, especially when they’re loved by their country and you do it on national television.”

Oliver seems to overlook the fact the comments weren’t actually made on television…

The comments by Ramsay made big news overseas, particularly in the UK’s tabloid press.

Meanwhile at a cooking class at Queensland’s Sanctuary Cove Resort, Ramsay was on his best behaviour.

“He was on his best behaviour and had the crowd eating out of his hands,” an observer said.

“He didn’t mention the Grimshaw thing and didn’t even swear . . . I think he said ‘Christ’ once – that was it.”

  1. I love Jamie but any comments by him are going to be coloured by the fact that Gordon does nothing but constantly slag Jamie off in public. I would suggest this is a little pot-stirring…

  2. The best bit of the “genuine” apology was when he said his mum called to “bollock” him over his comments … and then she admitted she hasn’t spoken to him since the previous week.

  3. I’m still disturbed by the comment, “especially when they’re loved by their country…”

Should Tracey consider a run for parliament? Eek!

  4. jamie oliver must have missed the entire apology (which was genuine by the way) and tracy’s response. As far as I’m concerned, I think a lot more of him now than I did prior to the whole incident- the fact that a man of his stature, was able to bite the bullet, admit he was wrong, and apologise, shows a nice side of him that I never knew existed.

    1. Paull you don’t think it was a business decision? He didn’t budge til the PM got into the fray and it was making press in the UK. Funny how one day he says Tracy did it for a “ratings grab” and the next he is humbly apologetic.

  5. If nine weren’t showing Ramsay’s shows, **maybe** the story might have a shred of credibility. Since that is obviously not true, i think the story is not only a media beat up, but a deliberate set up.

  6. I think it’s time to put this story to bed. It’s been milked by every media outlet for far too long. Do you think we could see a re-launch of Kitchen Nightmares and Hell’s Kitchen some time soon.
