Josie Bissett joins Melrose remake

First Laura Leighton and Thomas Calabro, now Josie Bissett, better known as Jane Mancini, returns to Melrose Place.

jb1First Laura Leighton and Thomas Calabro, now Josie Bissett, better known as Jane Mancini, is signed for at least one episode of the new-look Melrose Place, to air in the US from September.

Bissett will reprise her role as sister to Laura Leighton’s Sydney Andrews may yet do more than one episode for the show which airs on the CW network.

So far perennial ‘Special Guest’ Star Heather Locklear is still a no show, Marcia Cross is doing well enough with Desperate Houswives and Andrew Shue (Billy) reckons the show shouldn’t even be revived in the first place.

  2. Andrew Shue’s reaction may have something to do with the fact that Billy had been a very stupid character, perhaps a resentment on the way he had to play the him.

    Given what happened in the final episode of the original series, it seemed only right for Josie Bissett to be in the new one plus it will be interesting to see her together again with Michael and Sydney.

    As to the suggestion about Marcia Cross, Kimberley died in the original series so the only way she would have played her again is in a flashback after all she does not look any different now than when she was on the original show.

  3. Well 90210 has been pretty darn good for the CW, so obviously they’re gonna redo Melrose as well…duh 😛

    It won’t be an epic fail, just look at 90210? If it can manage to rate at least 3 mil a night it’s perfect for the CW

  4. Yes I’m torn. On one hand I do belive these shows are of an era and shouldn’t be brought back. ( 90210 & Melrose Place helped define the 90s ). There are enough shows on now that take their place, Gossip Girl, Desperate Housewives. On the other hand I do find it intrieging seeing characters return years after we last saw them. Its great that Josie is returning as that completes a Melrose family, Micheals ex, Sydneys sister. I am currently watching 90210 season one dvds that I bought overseas and am enjoying. Seeing Jennie Garth & Shanon Doherty together again is a thrill for any fan of the old series.
